“Nice Rooms But TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

For starters i reserved 2 rooms then decided we only neded one so i cancelled one of the rooms two days in advance. I was quoted a price of $119 per room per night. Got there and the desk clerk was beyond rude!! both rooms had been cancelled and the final price was $160!! I understand that there are taxes and stuff but come on thats just ridiculous!!! Will not stay there again just because of the desk clerks!! everyone else was very nice though!! Oh and the parking situation sucks as well!! And the clerk didn't even fill us in on the fact that we needed parking passes so we would not get towed.

Room Tip: Ask what the final price should be with tax and ask about parking!!

The bedding was ultra comfortable and the room was very clean. Nice casino and the food was good as well. If you go to Deadwood this is the place you want to go.

“Good stay in Deadwood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

We stayed here for a quick stop on Deadwood, and thought it was decent. Not sure anywhere else would be much better based on walking around the hotels and casinos...

Pros:
Friendly service
Well located on the main drag near lots of restaurants, but not an overly noisy spot
Free breakfast
Large room

Cons:
We got a smoking room - not sure how, but it was awful. They were really nice at the front desk in trying to help the situation, but if you don't smoke it is unbearable.
Parking across the street was always full - valet had room for like 2 cars in the entrance, so we couldn't even get in that line and had to find other parking
Rooms outdated

We honestly would not go back to Deadwood, and would spend more time in more scenic parts of SD if we did it again.

“October Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

My wife & I spent 3 nights at the Hampton Inn Oct. 15, 16, 17th on a quick trip through the Black Hills. We found the King, non-smoking room very nice. The staff were nice and we enjoyed the free breakfast. I definitely liked the Four Aces Casino attached to the hotel - very friendly dealers and staff. We definitely would stay there again, as it is a great location.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor if you're there on a weekend - helps with the noise.

“Well, at least it was cheap”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Sorry for the poor rating but this is a beat up facility from the 1970s that would probably be OK for those that want to crash here after losing all their money in the rigged slot machines in town.
They did their best to clean it up but it truly needs to be gutted to remain in the Hilton umbrella.
The bedding and mattress were so filled with dust mites that I had to take a Claritin as well as use Flonase to survive the allergy attack I had within 30 min of bedding down. The parking is hideous, drive 1 block up Main St. and park in the secure public lot for $5 a day and skip the valet.
I will say the front desk ladies were always most friendly and helpful--a definite plus. The sad breakfast room was also run by a hard working lady [ Rose? ] which made it tolerable.

Room Tip: Pay the big bucks and stay elsewhere or better yet skip Deadwood altogether other than for a brief w...
