“SkiForLight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I have attended ski for light for many years and look forward to it every year. The Mineral Palace has been more than accomodating and the employees go out of there way to make your stay wonderful. I use a wheelchair and the hotel was very wheelchair friendly. It is located in a central location which makes it easy to get around to do a little shopping in downtown Deadwood. The hotel restaurant served delicious meals and there is a balcony that overlooks mainstreet. I would definitely stay there again.

“Ski for Light”

I have been staying at the Mineral Palace during Ski for Light for the last 7-8 years. I enjoy my stay every year because the staff and owner are very nice, kind, and helpful. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the rooms clean and welcoming, and the food is very tasty and amazing. Not to mention the deals that they have given our group has been so helpful in making this trip possible to attend every year. I highly recommend this facility to stay at. It's the best hotel in Deadwood!

Thanks for everything!
Tara K.

I have stay at the Mineral Palace for Ski for Light for many years now and I really look forward to coming back each year. The staff is very friendly , supportive and they will go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible.. They cares for the travelers who come to stay at this hotel and they are willing to take those extra steps and provide the above normal help should the need arise. Given the options of which hotel to stay at in Deadwood during.SFL I would always chose the Mineral Palace. I have stayed at many hotel /motel and i rate the Mineral Palace A#1 above the rest. Many Thanks to the staff and management for a wonderful weekin your establishment.

The accomodations and food were excellent. Mr. Gould and his dedicated staff took great care of our large ski group. Despite our demanding and smewhat needy group of people, we were alsays gretted with a big smile and helping hands from the staff and management.

I have never stayed in a place that makes you feel like more than just a customer. The Mineral Palace made me feel more like part of a big family!

“Friendly staff makes this hotel #1”

I stayed at the Mineral Palace during our Ski For Light event January 22-26 and I can't say enough about the helpful, friendly staff. Karolea Schnabel was extremely courteous and easy to communicate and plan with while booking the event and everyone at the front desk followed her lead. The doormen/bellhops/valet staff were always welcoming and busy helping me or other guests with luggage or any other need. The bar staff always had a smile and I felt comfortable ordering a beer or a soda while sitting at the bar. They'd even take a picture with us when we asked.
The hotel rooms were very clean and a great place to come home to and relax after a busy day. We found a treat of some kind every evening left by the hotel staff.
While eating at the restaurant, I found myself very pleased with the attentive waitstaff and excellent food. The manager of the restaurant even came by my table to ask if everything was okay.
I didn't gamble but watched some friends play blackjack. The dealer was kind and patient explaining the game to new players.
Overall, this is an exceptional place to stay in Deadwood! The combination of the wonderful staff, attractive and clean rooms, first rate restaurant makes this my number one choice!
