We stayed here for Sturgis last year and it was a great mid-way location for day trips and going into Sturgis. We would go out early, clean up our bikes/ourselves and then set sail on the hotel shuttle for downtown Deadwood. There is always a cold drink and good time to be had in downtown! Thanks, Lucy! This hotel is not worth the money that it charges per night but what can you expect in a town such as Deadwood, SD. When I went to take a shower the shower handle fell off in my hand. You would think when they cleaned the room they would have noticed it. It is not a good idea to put sleeping rooms across from a indoor pool that is open until midnight. Too much noise for those trying to sleep. The nice thing about this location is they have a shuttle that transports you to Deadwood at no charge and picks you back up. The gentleman who operates the shuttle was very nice and informative about the area. Deadwood is a gambling town and since I don't gamble I should have chosen to stay somewhere else.

we'd been to deadwood many years ago and thought it was a fun town with the historic buildings and gambling. this trip was with 7 family members and one was my 13 year old great nephew so we wanted some fun things for him to do. this comfort inn sounded great with the arcade, bumper cars, go carts, etc. well the arcade was very generic with very little to interest a 13 year old and the outdoor attractions did not open til 1pm. we arrived at night and planned on using the go carts the next morning before we left. didn't really have anything fun for him to do. i didn't think the hotel looked anything like the pictures. it was much more fun down inside and the worst hotel of the 7 we stayed at during the week. we even stayed at 2 'mom and pop' motels which were much nicer than this comfort inn.

Third time at Comfort Inn but first since South Dakota went smoke free. Hotel seemed much cleaner without smoke. Staff is very friendly. The free shuttle to downtown is one reason we stay here. Reasonable off season rates. Machines weren't very generous. Plan on staying on next trip to Deadwood.
