“Good stay at Deadwood”

Stayed at many super 8's and this was one of the better ones. Good location just on the outskirts of Deadwood - we drove into the centre in a couple of minutes. Had a lovely clean room that was quiet. Tried our luck on the slots - not our night, but enjoyed it anyway. Staff were professional but friendly. Would certainly stay here again if ever in this area.

“Very Nice and Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

My Parents and I made the trip to Deadwood from Nebraska this past weekend and stayed here for 2 nights and we loved it. It was nice and clean and the bonus of being able to gamble right on site was nice. The deck with the stream running by would be a wonderful place to sit and have breakfast or relax with a few drinks.
The room rate was very reasonable, The only problem I had was I made the reservations online and ended up with a smoking room and they were booked when we got there so we were not able to be moved, But I always travel with room spray (just incase that happens) there are a lot of stairs, so if you have elderly people you will want to specify to be put on the ground level.
It is a little dangerous where the pool is cituated as there does tend to be water on the floor in the traffic area where you have to walk into the Casino/Breakfast area.
We thought the staff was nice especially Debbie that worked in the Casino/Breakfast area. She was very friendly and made sure that the Breakfast Bar items were full.
The little pizza's were very good.
All in All it was a very good time And If I get to go back to Deadwood I would definately stay here again.

“Very Disappointed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

We spent 3 nights here in early September-the 6th time we've stayed here in the past 10 years. This time was quite different from the past-the staff must have been worn out from the summer and seemed to "brush off" the problems. I made the reservation in early July and requested a room on the 2nd floor...no such luck! We were put on the 1st floor-we heard every move from above-our last night here we were awakened at 1:30 a.m. and kept awake the enire time by people walking above us! We could not use the pool or hot tub from late afternoon through the evenings(our entire stay) as one family thought it was their personal pool party, complete with pool toys etc. The kids were even jumping into the hot tub! The pool area was a mess at that time, puddles all over the walking area etc. We had no hot water our 2nd day but they did call in the service man and that was was remedied by noon.
Commenting to staff about the above situations at multiple times, came back with the response "that's the way things go"! The maids did a wonderful job and the breakfast choices were good...but...our next trip to Deadwood will be spent in a different hotel!

We do everything possible to accommodate our guest’s request, but due to stay over’s and advance bookings we do not guarantee what floor their room may be on. The customer was told this when the reservation was made. We offered to move her to the 2nd floor the next night but she refused.
Our staff takes great pride in our property and their job performance. They have won many customer service awards, and as you will see by our great TripAdvisor comments we have the best staff in Deadwood. The pool customers had two children ages 2 and 4; their parents were playing with them in the pool the whole time. Our front desk clerk politely told her that we are a family motel and the children were being monitored and we could not tell them that they could not splash water.
We want to ensure the best possible stay for all our customers and are very sorry our motel could not meet her needs.

“Wished I could have Stayed Longer”

I had stayed a quite a number of hotels this summer, and this property is by far the best of the season. I particularly enjoyed the quiet deck overlooking the little clear water stream eating a very tasty choice from the Pizzeria. Having food available to late hours was fantastic. It is located right next to a walking/jogging bike path and makes it very enjoyable to walk the area and take in the local. The Hotel is very clean and well kept with folks at the desk most helpful and friendly. Being from Nebraska, the next trip I take to the Black Hills will include a longer stay at this hotel.
