“Bridgewater condo”

We heard of this resort from a coworker and took a chance. We wanted oceanfront with a balcony and were pleased to have a 3rd floor 1BR condo at Bridgewater. The entire resort is gorgeous!! We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that even though it is a condo rental, there is daily housekeeping! The beach was not as crowded as you would find at a more "public" beach, and has umbrella and chair rentals available. Our 2 teenage daughters also loved the week we spent there- especially the lazy river. It is an easy drive up to Myrtle Beach if you need that kind of entertainment, and we even drove to Charleston to spend a day. Many great seafood restaurants all around- Hanser House, located near the resort check in was our favorite! We loved our relaxing week there so much, we booked for next year the day after returning home!

Room Tip: Call the resort directly and check for specials/discounts. Also ask for a higher floor if booking at...

“a great place to recuperate from christmas”

I brought my husband and stayed here in Jan. 2009, but I also had the pleasure of coming w/ my family for several consecutive yrs. For families, I think the best parts are the secluded beaches and the bike rides near dusk. The resort rents bikes hrly and daily. As a couple, we stayed in a oceanview 1br w/ kitchenette & separate living area. The space was perfect & we could open the sliding door & hear nothing but the waves. They were renovating when we were there but our room had not been done. It was a little outdated but nothing bad. There were very few guests in Jan. So we got to enjoy the indoor pool/Jacuzzi all by ourselves. The whole resort seemed to be our own private escape..

“Not Really a hotel”

This is not really a hotel. It turns out that, though they make you think it is a hotel, it really is a condo rental company. Units are not consistant like at a Hilton or Marriott. If you have a problem with your unit, you will be told that each unit is individually owned and nothing can be done about it because it is the owner's responsibility.

“Great area, okay resort...”

We just recently returned from a Thanksgiving long weekend at one of the many properties managed by Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. We received a great off-season package deal.My rating of "average" was a toughie for me as it was kind of in between the average and the "very good". My husband wanted to play gold and knowing that we were arriving on the holiday, asked if they would be staffed to schedule a Tee time for the following day. We were assured that they were FULLY staffed on Thanksgiving. Well, they were not and it ended up being a little bit of a mix up with the golf that ultimately held up our check out 25 minutes, as we were charged for the golf at both the resort (even though he didnt get a voucher) and then again at the golf course, it is custom to pay at the resort but as there was noone they could find to help with the tee times he just did it on the phone in the lobby, and wasnt given the voucher so he didnt think he paid, and neither did the golf course. Then at checkout when we found we were charged, we had the front desk person just staring at us when we inquired why we owed. Finally, she called the Manager, who I cant say was actually rude, but never introduced herself or asked how she could help US. This whole ordeal took way longer to be worked out then it should of and we found the staff to just not be up to the standard we would expect. The finer points: Websters for Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful, a little pricey but the food was fresh and very good. The breakfast buffet was always well stocked and high quality. The rooms which are all privately owned was adequate but on the last night I stepped on glass on the bathroom floor (we didnt break any glass). Overall, the stay was satisfactory. The locatioin was a definite plus.

“Really Good hotel”

The overall experience at Litchfield was good. We went on a family trip and wanted to get away from the craziness at Myrtle. The staff was great and offered good service. The swimming pool which we used I really enjoyed because it had a designated area that was great for kids were the water would go up to your knees and had a boat which kids could go in and play. It also had a swimming pool for adults and a jacuzzi. The room was nice, it had a great view and was very spacious and well mantained. The beach was as good as it can get for being in the United States, warm water that resembles caribbean water (August) and almost no waves which made it peaceful and great if you have kids and want to play with them on the water. The beach was a little bit overcrowded , but again it is a popular hotel
