The new owners of the Pelican Inn have changed things just enough to make your stay more comfortable yet managed to maintain all the historic charm of this beloved old inn. The closed in porch dining room affords sweeping views of the marsh, and the air conditioning throughout makes for cool comfort after a day on the beach in the low country. The food blends the best of southern cooking and fresh healthy ingredients. We loved seeing tomatoes growing in pots creekside then enjoying them on a platter with fresh basil at mid day dinner. New linens and mattresses and colorful rag rugs make for a restful comfortable decor. There is wi-fi on the wrap around porches and in the living room. And the vegetation surrounding the inn and covering the walkway to the private beach add a special charm. Whether you want to fish, kayak, ride bikes or just stretch out on the hand crafted Pawleys Island hammocks on the covered porches or in the oceanfront gazebo your stay will be magical.
