We booked this hotel for September 10 as we were already in Myrtle Beach, SC & wanted to extend our vacation. However, most places were booked for the weekend. Upon arrival, before seeing the room, we booked another night (September 11). Huge mistake. When we got to the room, I was shocked at the conditions of the room. The toilet seat had an oily residue & the tub looked like it had not been cleaned. The kitchen area was horrible. Rust covered the appliances inside & out. Fungus was growing under the microwave on top of the refrigerator. Droppings were behind the microwave on top of the refrigerator. Silverware was on the floor under the sink. The bedcovers had numerous cigarette burn holes & mildew. I checked the linens to discover a brown spot on the pillows. After further inspection, I removed the pillow from the pillowcase to discover mildew & big brown stains all over the pillows. The smoke alarm did not have batteries. This place was so bad that we did not take our possessions off of the luggage cart & asked for a refund. The nicest thing I can say about this oceanfront room was that it had a lightswitch to control the balcony light & that the office employees quickly agreed to a refund. Although we have the paperwork for the refund, we left Friday & have not received a refund through our bank as of Monday at 1:32pm.
