“Spectacular View”

We stayed in the only lodge that is available with our five children. The view from the lodge is just amazing! It does not come any better than that view, that's for sure!! The cleanliness in the lodge was the biggest complaint. There were crumbs still on the kitchen counters from previous campers, the ants were everywhere as others reviewers said, and the floors felt dirty beneath your feet. We did not have this problem in any of the other KOA's we stayed in on our vacation, and we stayed in five total in a two week period.

“Great Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Camped in a tent trailer we pulled behind our motorcycle. The hosts were most pleasant, made our stay quite enjoyable. Would caution there is a minimum of shade but since we weren't there that much during the day, not a problem. Bathrooms were plentiful for the number of campers, clean and modern. Showers were nice and hot. Office did close earlier then some KOA's but was never a problem for us.

“Overall a good experience”

We enjoyed our visit there. Key points include:
- staff was very nice, helpful, and informative.
- ant problem is excessive, even for camping. Several of our neighbors spent most of the time sitting on their picnic table.
- showers were small, but adequate. If they would put a foot rinse station right outside showers, I think they would stay much cleaner.
-mini golf course right next door was nice and fun.
- lake is very nice perk of the campground.
- the sweetgrass basket makers in little roadside stands are a part of the history and tradition of the area, but the hand crafted baskets are expensive.

Room Tip: Tent site 17 has as much or more shade than any of the other tent sites.

“Nice but Ants are BAD!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

My girlfriend and I went to this campground as part of our vacation. We stayed on June 1st.
We got to the campground and found it was very clean and very nice. We decided to stayed in a tent right on the water. You could not ask for a better view. As we pulled up to our site we noticed there was a few ants but we were expecting this from the reviews so we thought we were prepared for this with outdoor ant killer. Once out of the car, ants were crawling all up our legs and we were only out of the car for about 1 minute. We had to buy two cans of raid bug spray from the KOA store (which did nothing as they overtook the whole site). We decided to leave right after we put up the tent. We got back to the campground around 10 -11pm and decided to go right to bed and leave early in the morning. That is exactly what we did. It is ashame as the campground is clean and has amazing views but the ants are so bad that tenting is nearly impossible.

Room Tip: Bring tons of ant spray!
