We arrived late and exhausted, without a reservation (don't do this!) on a rainy, dismal night. Barbara was just closing, but you would never know it from her welcoming manner. She showed us to the Key West suite, which looks exactly the way you picture it. The bed was comfy, the bathroom huge, and there was every amenity.
In addition, I forgot a jacket with a pin that belonged to my late mother. Barbara even mailed it back to me, at her own expense. What more could you ask?
If you find yourself in Landrum, The Country Mouse, soon to be called Twigs, like the downstairs restaurant of the same name, would make a great place to stay. I highly recommend it for comfor and southern charm. That includes the staff!

We stayed at the Country Mouse Inn this past weekend because my sister -in-law was getting married there. Barbara was so sweet,considerate,welcoming and immediately felt like an old friend. She and my five year old son got along so well,that he asked for her number and after we returned from an 8 hr drive home to Alabama (which is usually a five hour one,but due to several traffic jams, the ride home lasted an extra three hours)the first thing my son did when he got into the house was to grab the phone and start dialing Ms. Barbara. Luckily,I caught him in time before he finished dialing because it was late at night and I didn't want him to possibly disturb her. The house was built in 1857 and is such a nice home with wonderfully decorated and clean rooms.The rooms also have very comfortable beds and nicely decorated bathrooms.EVERYONE that we met that works there was very friendly and aiming to please. Thank you for such a fun and wonderful weekend Ms. Barbara,Ms. Beverly,Ms.Jenette and anyone I'm failing to mention at the moment. SW
