We stayed at this campground once before and decided to return because it is so gorgeous! Biking/walking trails, water park, dog park, canoes, kayaks... Just a great place to stay!

Great location, only about 5 minutes from the city of Charleston. My boyfriend and I camped here in our tent for 3 nights and loved it! We had the best spot in the whole campground, it was completely shaded and very close to the bathrooms. The campground was a little more developed and less wooded than expected, considering there is a water park and all of the trails were paved, however, still an awesome campground. With the campground pass, you also get free parking to any of the Charleston county parks. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to camp close to Charleston.

As a nature lover I especially enjoy JICP! It’s peaceful, relaxing and a great place to get away from the city and immerse yourself in nature. The scenery is beautiful. It’s a good place to see what the natural environment of the area is like as well what Palmetto trees grown/look like naturally. This is nothing like a city park. At 643 archers this park is more like a mini state park. The park has something for virtually every preference in outdoor activities. There’s several miles of hiking/biking trails. There’s a creek with a fishing pier. There’s a lake were you can rent a kayak, canoe or paddle boat or bring your own. They have primitive, developed and RV campsites which includes restroom, shower and laundry facilities. It has a dog park, a 50 foot climbing wall, a water park, a playground personal/family pick nick areas as well as areas for larger group outings/gatherings. You can even rent a cabin with some nice views of the creek. Plus its only about ten to fifteen minutes from downtown.

This park is very well maintained with great bike/hiking trails, dog park, clean RV sites with full hookups and very quiet. We don't tow a vehicle with our RV, so the shuttle into Charleston was great. They also have a shuttle to Folly Beach. We didn't know about the holiday lights, but they are apparently in the top 10 nationwide. We definitely want to go back for that. There is also a great water park with a variety of slides, etc. They have a 50ft climbing wall that offers classes. Great stay!
