I was traveling to this area for to my nephew's graduation from the US Marine Corp. bootcamp on Parris Island. I travel alot for work, and normally stay at one of the chains where I have alot of points (courtyard, Hilton, priority club, etc.). I made my reservation late, and Country Inn was one of the few places that had a room, in fact, I got their last room.
Samantha (don't know her last name) was the front desk agent who checked me in. I was having an issue with my jeep, as in, the transmission was going out, and it wouldn't go in reverse. she helped me get a parking spot where I wouldn't have to back up, she called her brother who might be able to help with the mechanical difficulties, and she called my cell phone while I was at dinner with relatives, to offer that her brother could stop by the hotel to check out my car. When I got back to the hotel, she followed me over to the Jeep dealership after she got off work, and took me back to the hotel. If that is not going over and above, I don't know what is. Even at some of the best hotels in the world I've stayed at, I haven't gotten service like this. The hotel itself was a great experience for the price paid, clean room, and the bed was very comfortable (like Westin feather bed comfortable). I would stay here again, and highly recommend it for anyone traveling to this area (especially for the USMC graduation). Beaufort was a neat town, and I found some very good restaurants downtown. For what its going to cost to get my 2007 Wrangler repaired (over $3700) - I could stay at the country inn for a year... given the experience with the stay, its tempting to leave the jeep.
