We were there to attend my sons December 2nd graduation from Marine Boot Camp. The room was clean, it is "weathered" but clean. Considering there are graduations every week, you know these rooms are used and abused all the time. Ours had a fresh coat of paint, the carpet was fine, and the beds were comfortable. The walls appeared to be thin because we could hear the people in the room next to us but as time went on we realized how loud the people in the next room were and that maybe the walls weren't that thin as they had no desire to be quiet and were outside of our room until 2am being loud, banging etc. I was so tired from all the driving and days activities I didn't have the energy to deal with them and know from experience that when you call the front desk the guests get louder. The front desk people were very accommodating, knowledgeable, helpful, there were packets of information at the front desk available for the families, the continental breakfast is a basic one but enough to get us started on our day. The biggest problems I had were not with the hotel but the inconsiderate guests. During breakfast when everyone is rushing to get to the base, one woman commented that there was only one toaster for so many people but she was cooking 12 bagels for her family who were not in the dining room but back in their rooms, then she dropped the whole plate and cooked 12 more. Maybe the hotel could have 1 or two more toasters because that was were the line backed up. I was very pleased to find out that the checkout time was not 11 but 12 on graduation day so that my son could come back to the room and change into street clothes for our long ride home. Anytime we asked the front desk staff a question they answered it and sometimes offered up suggestions because we didn't know the area. This hotel is very very close to the base and away from the hustle and bustle of Beaufort, the area is very quiet and our room was facing the pool courtyard so the kids could play outside a little. For the price and location this hotel was fine for what we needed it for. If you are there for a graduation you will meet many other parents and they become resources as well....welcome to the Military family and enjoy this experience!
