My sister, myself, and our friend visited Block Island yesterday and Sunday. We stayed at the National Hotel overnight. The hotel is located in the perfect spot, across the street from the ferry landing. Since the hotel was built in the late 1880's there is no air conditioning or elevator. We stayed on the third floor which meant climbing up 54 steps. No problem for me, but for people who have trouble walking there is a landing with a chair to catch your breath every nine or so steps. Front desk people are nice and do try to accomodate people who prefer the first floor. We went as part of a group trip so the cost of our dinner was included. We pre-chose our dinner from a three entrees. Dinner was not impressive at all. The prices on the menu are expensive. Go to Mohegan Cafe instead. But definately stay at this beauty!
Room Tip: Our room was in the back and quiet. No air-conditioning, only a small table fan,so staying off-seaso...
