We stayed at Arvgarden for one night around the memorial day weekend, and WOW - i'm not sure five stars really do this wonderful B&B justice. This was an incredible experience.
Originally i booked Arvgarden because we needed to stop overnight on our trip from Washington DC to Niagara Falls, but after our stay i would not hesitate to say that Arvgarden is very well worth the special trip in its own right. We'll definitely be staying there on our next vacation.
LOCATION: Arvgarden is very well situated among scenic hills right outside Wellsboro and close to all the parks. The air there is amazing, and it's so quite and tranquil. In my opinion that is preferable to staying in Wellsboro itself. Hilma was very kind to give us all the maps and information we needed to do some sightseeing.
ROOMS: Simply impeccable. Beautifully decorated, spotless clean (and i'm usually hard to pleas on that one), very comfortable beds and pillows. You'll also find extra pillows and blankets in your closet. I believe that at least three out of four rooms are "corner" rooms, which means you'll have lovely views form two windows and plenty of fresh air. In case of warm weather each room has a sealing fan, which is perfect. The bathrooms are quite large and very comfortable as well. There is a small night light in the bathroom which you can turn on at night, and the soaps smell terrific.
BREAKFAST: Possibly the best i've ever experienced at any B&B! You'll be spoiled by excellent home cooking with organic wholesome ingredients, most of which are coming from Arvgarden's own garden. The choices will vary based on season, but the options will be plentiful and delicious. Not to mention the lovely dining room itself and the beautifully set table! I don't want to give out all the surprises, but suffice to say this will be a fantastic start to your day.
HOSTS: Again, nothing but rave reviews there. Hilma and Keith are such generous and gracious hosts, you'll feel like you are staying with very good friends. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them, and we felt so welcomed.Although we arrived very late, not only Hilma patiently waited for us , she was kindly gave us a farm tour the next day. We got to see 5 week old lambs!
The whole place just oozes love and care, and we can't wait to return!
