“We were blessed and treated royally!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2009

My family and I were traveling to Washington DC when one of our vans broke down and we were able to exit at 156, I70. We used the GPS to look for the nearest motel--thinking that we would have to travel some distance--but we learned from the GPS that it was around the corner and up the hill! When we called the owner at 2:00 a.m. he was very courteous and quickly opened the motel and two rooms for our lodging. He provided a third room at no charge to hold our luggage and other gear from the van.

When we awoke in the morning he had hot coffee waiting for us. He allowed us to wait at the motel until a family member came with another van to pick us up!

The rooms were immaculate and Ahmed was an angel!

“3rd world accomodations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2008

The attached gas station is now boarded up. The room had a musty smell and the carpets were stained. The staff were non-english speaking and did not address the problems with my room. My sheets smelled. There were stains on the pillow case that needed to be bleached. The water coming out of the faucet was rusty when you first turn the water on and they blamed it on "well water". When I called Days Inn, they told me each hotel is independently operated and they could not assist me directly. I told them they should get their company name away from this place!

“A Pleasant Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2008

When our car broke down, we coasted off the highway to find a fully-equiped NAPA mechanic at the end of the ramp, in the middle of nowhere with the exception of a Days Inn and a gas station next door. We were thrilled to find a good mechanic and pleasant accomodations so easily. While our car was being fixed, we hiked up a mountain road and enjoyed the forested mountains.

The Warfordsburg Days Inn, while not new, is extremely clean and affordable. There are three plush Middle Eastern carpets in the lobby--an unexpected luxury. Our room was equipped with a comfortable clean bed with good pillows, new bedspread, and new shower curtain. The air conditioning, television and remote control worked well. The rooms have free high speed internet access.

The owners/staff are very attentive and friendly. They serve breakfast out of the restaurant in the morning while other owners operate it the rest of the day. An extreme heat wave had caused the restaurant's air conditioner to break down, so the owner made by breakfast and delivered it personally to my room. The night before, he offered me an apple from his personal grocery shopping bag as I walked by his van. This hungry and stranded traveler won't forget that simple kindness.

We will stop here again whenever passing through this area.

  • Liked — cleanliness, price, friendly owners, convenient off-road access
  • Disliked — Restaurant was closed, leaving only convenience store food available at the gas station nearby.

“Central to Beautiful Scenery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2007

I spent five days at this motel, so I could photograph the excellent scenery of the area, in central Fulton County, PA.

The room, service, and staff were excellent. The restaurant at the Hotel was complete and managed well, so meals were no problem.

When I need to be in South-Central Pennsylvania, I will not fail to re-visit this Hotel.
