My husband and I were looking for a quick, quiet night away from the kids and wanted to stay Downtown or on the North Shore close to the casino. I searched online for hotels and rates, and I am so happy that I did. I had never heard of the Priory before and really have nothing but wonderful things to say. We purchased the casino package, which given all of the additions, I feel came out to be a better deal than any of the other North Shore hotels. Our night away was a true escape. It all started with a very friendly gentleman upon check-in. The staff both days were so pleasant and helpful with questions and directions to places. There is a very small, quaint little bar that is nice to stop in before heading out for the night. The room was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I took note of the bathroom with it's nice tile work, no cracks, and exceptionally clean tub. The furniture and room decor was very tasteful. The high ceilings just added so much, making the room feel so spacious. The room appeared to be well maintained, no chipped paint, no wear on the carpeting, etc. Breakfast the following day prior to check-out was more than adequate, it was great! Wonderful meat and cheeses, everything you would hope for at a continental breakfast and much more! Delicious pastries that I found out came from their own bakery...(again...I never knew and hope to go there someday soon!). I was glad to see that check-out was later than most hotels allowed, which was really nice since we wanted a few more hours of our escape!! We were able to look around and saw their hall decorated for a wedding that night....what a beatiful atmosphere that would be for a wedding...it looked amazing! We will absolutely visit again, and I hope it is sooner rather than later! We had a wonderful time!!!

First the reason I chose the Priory was because it was an monastery that had been converted into a hotel. It is a great building to explore and if you asked the staff they will let you tour the Grand Hall which was once a church.

All of the North Shore attractions are a short walk from the Priory. The neighbor is a typical of an inner city neighborhood and the people are pleasant. I found Pittsburgh an easy city to get around in.

The hotel was clean, the staff was great, and I plan to go back some day.

Excellent staff, exceptionally clean, very comfortable, affordable and unique.

Part of the neighborhood going into that area of the North shore is not the best but the area is going through renovations but we had no problems at all.

This is a very comfortable and charming place to stay while in Pittsburgh just over the bridge from downtown.

We will be staying here from now on when visiting Pittsburgh.

I enjoyed the uniqueness and old-fashioned design of the rooms in this repurposed hotel. The hospital is within walking distance of Allegheny General. Overall a good stay. There is a small free parking lot available but there is a sign letting you know the hotel isn't responsible for stolen items. The hotel is a pretty poor-looking area of town, but the night was quiet and peaceful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend someone to stay here. I also really liked the toiletries they provided. They are of higher quality and the soap smells great.
