My husband & I had never been to a clothing-optional resort before, but we decided to give it a try after researching it on the internet. We looked up nudist resorts in Pennsylvania on the internet and Sunny Rest Resort came up, so we checked out the web site & decided to book a room for the weekend. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the scenery was there. The pool area was great and had large pool and plenty of lounge chairs. It really had a "poconos" feel to it because of the beautiful tall pine trees surrounding the area. It was very peaceful. The staff was very nice when checking us in and gave us a map of the resort and explained where some things were and some common rules such as always sitting on a towel, no photography, etc.
We were really hungry when we got there, so we went straight to the restaurant for lunch. It was delicious! I had an excellent turkey club & my husband had fish & chips. Then we unloaded our stuff into the room. We had one of the meadow view rooms below the pool area. The room was very nice, clean, and had cable tv, a coffee maker, small fridge, etc. Plus it was really hot that day, so we turned on the air conditioner right away & it didn't take too long to cool the room off nicely.
We spent the rest of the day lounging at the pool and taking a dip in the pool. It was very relaxing and everyone including the staff was very friendly. We were too tired that night to attend the night club, so we soaked in the hot tub & then went to sleep.
In the morning we went to the restaurant for breakfast since it was included with our room, and were very pleased that we could choose any breakfast item off the menu. There was no limited menu & no continental buffet - just a good sit-down served breakfast. I ordered pancakes. They were great! and my husband had an omlette which he thought was pretty good too.
We spent the day at the pool again, and they had some pretty good entertainment. They had a fashion show and displayed some lingerie that a company was selling there that weekend. It was in good taste, and very entertaining because they put on a whole correographed dance performance with a biker theme. We saw people buying the lingerie there too from the company selling it, and I saw some neat outfits in the night club that night. We had a blast that night at the night club and the music was really similar to what they play at other places.
We will definitely go back to Sunny Rest again. We had a really great time!

It was my first experience at a nudist resort. I went alone and wasn't sure if I'd like it so I brought my tent with me. I felt very comfortable and welcome. The resort is so wonderful that I decided to camp overnight. The restrooms were clean, the mountain views are gorgeous, I loved the big heated pool and volley ball games, I loved the hiking trail. The restaurant was nice, the prices reasonable, the staff helpful and friendly. Sunny Rest has a rep for being a swingers resort and I did get some offers but no one ever touched me or said anything inappropriate. I'm not a swinger. I didn't like the nightclub, it was way too provocative for me, but I easily found some people who were more my style telling stories around a campfire. So it's not like the swingers are out to convert you. I don't understand how it happened but it was like a giant switch got flipped in my psyche. I'm a 260 pound, tall, 49 year old woman. I never felt good about my body in my entire life which is why I never let anyone see me nude unless I trusted them not to make fun of me. I left there feeling really great about myself, my life and my body. I no longer feel worthless and ashamed for being fat no matter what the commercials on TV tell me. My only regret is that I didn't do this 30 years ago.
