I stayed there with 3 of my children while visiting family over the Christmas break.
There was an altercation in the hallway at approximately 2 am. A young man was screaming some of the worst obscenities at the top of his lungs and threatening other people in the hallway. Apparently, the front desk was called because it was believed that he was assaulting a woman in his room. Instead of the police being called, the bar bouncer handled the situation, by removing the man from the building.
That was a joke, really. The door to the outside on our end of the building was broken and could not be closed let alone locked. The guy just walked right back in and started pounding on his girlfriend's door and yelling obscenities again. I called the front desk. No one came. I called again and pleaded with them to remove the man. Someone came and talked with the guy who quieted down for a short time, but as soon as the guy from the front desk left - he started pounding and yelling all over again.
In addition, the motel was dirty as other reviewers described.
We decided that if we need to stay at a hotel while visiting our relatives again (we don't always need to), then we will stay at the new hotel by the new mall. It's further away from our relatives, but I can imagine it would HAVE to be a much more pleasant stay.
PS - I wrote a formal complaint to Clarion about our stay and the unsafe situation. I received a generic reply and as far as I could tell the last time I looked, the door that I mentioned is still broken.
Don't stay there.
