A continued 3 cheers for Wedgwood Inn.

I returned to New Hope last week and again stayed at the Inn. I had recalled its tastefully-furnished rooms, with their mix of antiques and finds from flea markets, the inviting lounges with sofas, reading chairs, board games and magazines and the luscious breakfasts.

I was not disappointed. Wedgwood remains a first-rate establishment. The innkeepers have been running Wedgwood for several decades and their professionalism shows. The rooms are well-appointed. The bathrooms offer powerful water pressure and fluffy towels and there is plenty of drawer space in dressers and hanging space in closets. Of course it’s a B&B and not a 4 or 5 star hotel. Thus there are some creaks and blemishes, some peeling paint. But that’s part of the B&B charm.

The location, of course, is fantastic – a 5-minute walk to the center of New Hope and an easy walk across the bridge into Lambertville. As a bonus, important to me, Wedgwood welcomes pets in some of its rooms. Last week was my second Wedgwood visit; I’m looking forward to my third.

Our experience at Wedgwood Inn was mixed! The female owner was quite friendly and helpful. However, we found that her husband and the employee who made and served breakfast were both unpleasant; they both seemed sick and tired of running a B and B, and as if they really did not want to be bothered with us or with being there.
We stayed in the carriage house. The layout was charming. However, for $300 per night I was disappointed, and I think that some updates are definitely needed asap. The bathroom was covered in old, frayed, and dirty looking throw rugs. The bathroom shelf was broken, with pieces of protuding wicker. The jacuzzi looked old and very worn, as did the couch and furniture. We love old homes and B and Bs with character... but this room was just very worn and the bathroom was a bit shoddy. I definitely expected a lot more at the price we paid.
On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable. However, we do not plan to return. Even the breakfast was disappointing... fresh fruit was not so fresh. I expected a lot more!

We spent our wedding night in the Umpleby House at the Wedgwood Inn in June. We were so comfortable and just charmed by the attention to detail, the beautiful property, our hot tub for two, and especially breakfast on our private terrace. We hope to return every year! I later realized that I'd lost one of my wedding earrings, and Dinie graciously located it and sent it to me. Highly recommended.

We received a gift certificate for Christmas for the B&B and for a wine tour. My husband and I left our two little girls at home and had a great romantic weekend away! If it wasn't for breakfast, we would have thought we had the place to ourselves. Unlike many B&B's, the walls were not paper thin so we couldn't hear anyone else there! We stayed in the Umpleby house in a room with a porch. We wandered around New Hope so much, we never utilized the porch. The Inn is within walking distance of everything in New Hope. We really hope to return!
