Only stayed here since nothing else was available. Little to say we would have been better off staying in our car. The office was closed when we got there (late) and an envelope was taped to the front door with our name on it. So much for privacy. The room was a pit. It stunk. The mattress was old and there was an outlet with a plug right behind our pillow. Glad I didn't go to bed with wet hair. The outside of our room had pizza boxes and beer cans on the window sill. Our daughter tried to take a shower and kept screaming because of all the bugs crawling out of the shower. The whole bathroom was moldy. The "breakfast" was a joke. Waffles and English Muffins. Tubs of Country Crock to share with everyone. Instant coffee. One gallon of imatation OJ. No milk. It was so bad that we cancelled for the next night and had to travel 25 miles to a different hotel that was twice the price but well worth it. The staff stood outside and smoked. Two thin towels and one wash cloth.

There were no problems with checking in, the young man at the desk was nice. Other than that, it was all downhill. The parking lot was a complete sheet of ice, it was very dangerous for anyone to be walking on it. The room was not the cleanest I've seen for what we were paying for one night. For three people staying you would think they could spare an extra towel or two. We had two bath towels, one hand towel, one wash cloth. The toilet ran ALL NIGHT ... couldn't get it to stop !! Next morning, we showered and then noticed on the mirror from the steam some dirty language left behind, so the mirrors were not clean. We go to get breakfast at 8:30 a.m and everything was GONE .. the man sitting at his computer said we got there too late, the orange juice had all been drunk. He did not even bother to offer anything or if they had any more available. I think his computer was more important than his guests. Now this is to be a continental breakfast up until 10 a.m or so and they ran out of juice ? There was one container of jelly and peanut butter if we wanted either of those on muffins ! Who wants to use, with who knows how many other people, jars that had been touched over and over ??? I was very disappointed but as I said in the subjec line "What do you expect for $52 a night ? " .. We were only staying one night and I was glad we were leaving the next day !!!!! We will not stay there again.

I have been staying one night a week in the area for the past year, and tried the Rodeway for the first time last week. It easily has the best rates in the area, and with a DVD player and refrigerator, my room had the most amenities of any room I've stayed in in Kittanning or Indiana.

I had a first floor King that was fairly large but the decor was dated. Generally the furnishings were worn and threadbare. There was an odor in the room that was easily eliminated with a spray of Ozium, which I recommend frequent travelers carry with them. As mentioned there was a DVD player, dirty with presumably food from previous guests' fingers. Just needed to be wiped down, a simple detail that was a turnoff. The bathroom had a huge shower (no tub) and was dated but large.

Corridors are outdoor, which I tend to avoid. The standard Choice Hotels free breakfast is provided, with the usual waffles.

All in all, no major complaints but I'd only stay here again if the Quality Inn and Comfort Inn were full, due to the aged rooms and the 5 point per dollar credit that Choice gives for Rodeway stays vs 10 for the other brands.

This is the most filthy hotel I have ever seen! When we checked in we were told we were getting one of the better rooms. I would hate to see the other ones if this is the case.

The bathroom had so much mold in the shower that you had to put a towel down to use it. There was also mold growing on the walls of the bathroom.

The air conditioner didn't work and when we inquired about it we were told that the parts were on order and that the room should not have been rented out. We tried calling other hotels but everyone was booked.

The carpeting must not have been vacuumed in years because if you walked across it, the bottom of your feet turned black.

There were bugs in the room everywhere.

It looked like most of the rooms were being rented weekly or monthly to scary looking men.

After the first night, we had a hard time getting our money back for the two nights we were not going to stay there. Of couse they wouldn't give us our money back for the night we stayed. They claimed they didn't know about the problems - but they knew the air conditioner didn't work - we are still trying to figure that one out. The staff was very rude and not willing to work with us.

We went 15 minutes away and paid less than $10 a night more for a beautiful, very clean room.

Don't make the same mistake we did, this is not the place to stay for ANY reason.
