Good location opposite the lake and clean rooms.Ideal overnight stop when driving to the Gold Coast.

I was a bit unsure of booking into the South Tweed Motor Inn as there were no reviews online about it and it is part of the Budget Motel Chain which made me wonder if it was like a big hostel.

Thankfully my concerns were wrong and the motel itself whilst on the main Old Bruce Highway was quiet and well laid out. The rooms and pool are set in a horseshoe around the parking area which was helpful as it allowed to quickly run from the car tot he room with our belongings in the rain.

The room was fine with curtains which blocked ou the light, a selection of cable TV channels, Fridge, Tea and Coffee making facilities. There was a large double bed and a single in the room which allowed us to spread our luggage out rather than fully unpacking. The AC unit also heated the room.

The bathroom was small and functional with plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower.

Whilst the room was not the most modern it was clean and well looked after, the bedding was in good condition and spotlessly clean.

The only downside was in the night there were a number of little feet running around in the loft space above our room and at a couple of points a number of squeeks and shrils - whilst I am not completely sure it sounded like rats to me. We spoke to the manager in the morning who was horrified ad I am sure from his reaction was going to deal with whatever was in the loft.

I would stay here again and would recomend this as a good value place to stay.
