“Service as hot as the hot tub”

Stayed here for one night as a birthday treat for my partner, what a shame we didn't have more time to stay longer. Arrived after hours but had spoken to reception on the phone earlier. Extremely helpful and friendly guy called Simon gave us instructions what to do for key pickup, worked brilliantly. He told us he's have the hot tub bubbling away at 37c for our arrival and true to his word, it was. Stayed in a deluxe suite overlooking the bush and a peak of the beach through the trees. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, absolute silence when we woke up....such a peaceful spot. Loved the location - away from the touristy areas and on its own tucked away in the bush. We ordered the breakfast basket which was in the fridge waiting for us. It won't win any healthy eating prizes and it was Coles value brand but hey, it saved us the hassle of having to shop. Missed out on seeing any koalas but we walkled down the 4x4 track to Samurai Beach and over the rocks to One Mile Beach. Amazing - don't miss them. We were given a complimentary late checkout at 2pm and again reception was so helpful when we said goodbye. Even the groundsman and the cleaning lady stopped to say hi as we passed them. If you want the personal touch, you couldn't ask for more,

“Unbelievably relaxing - highly recommended”

My husband and I have just returned from a glorious weekend at Samurai Beach Resort. Our accommodation (the one bedroom spa suite) was of a very high standard: high quality bedding, very good kitchen and bathroom facilities and a great outdoor area including spa. It was so quiet and relaxing - we slept beautifully. There were kookaburras watching us breakfast in our courtyard! We will definitely be back!

“Even the koalas were friendly”

Stayed with 2 grandchildren, all staff especially Simon were helpful and we all had a ball. This place is beautifully situated, very clean, only problem was bar sized fridge which Simon promised to rectify, recent renovation by trendy person who obviously had no children. On site massage excellent also.

“Organised and Secluded”

We stayed one night at the Samurai Beach Resort in November 2009. Unfortunately the unpredictable spring weather meant it was pouring with rain, so Samurai's advantages such as the outdoor pool and close proximity to the beach (10 mins walk along a quiet 4x4 track) were somewhat lost on us.

Still, our studio apartment was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Ample parking is available. We arrived in the early evening only to find the reception closed at 5pm (they had noted this on the confirmation email, I just overlooked it) - however, a note had been helpfully stuck to the reception window addressed to myself, inviting me to call a mobile number. When I did so, the on-call staff member talked me through obtaining the room key, car park passcode etc from a safe deposit box near the reception, which I thought was organised and efficient.

I would consider returning to Samurai in better weather, as the value seemed good and the location should be beautiful.

“Beautiful, quiet and amongst nature”

This place was an amazing find.. Nestled amongst the trees and only a short walk to a beautiful beach this resort has been one of our family's favourite get aways...
It is close enough to Nelson Bay should you want to pop in to town and enjoy the attractions, but far away enough so that you don't feel part of the tacky tourist trade that has swamped the area. Our kids love the fact that the resort is in the middle of a Koala path, with staff leaving marker showing last known Koala sighting spots..
The spa rooms are large, reasonably new and fully self contained. A true gem.
