“Most comfortable bed I've slept in away from home"”

We stayed in the main house Spa Suite for the wife's birthday surprise - read the reviews about the cottage but that was already booked and after chatting with very helpful and funny owner decided to give the bnb a go. Glad we did - I got browny points up the wazoo as she loved it. they put one of those silk heart things on the bed for her surprise adn the room was warm and cosy wehn we got there. Very swish but comfortable room - really the best nights sleep either of us had in a long time. Fantastic breaakky to. highly recommended for all special getaways or just for a bit of romance. one thing - google them and go to there own website as they do fantastic direct bookign discounts for last minute stays/

“Totally fantastic stay with charming hosts and views to die for”

I would guess that just like everyone else who stays there, we were totally blown away by the views when we got out of our car - it's hard to describe and you think that the website shows a pretty amazing place but it's nothing to the real thing when you get there.

Hosts we very charming and friendly ... helpful and there if we needed them and gone when we didn't. We didn't have any problem with the bedroom handbook and all the advice in it - the thing about the shower gel actually says "for those of you who have never used it before ...." so if you take offence at that, well what can I say?

The room was beautiful and very comfortable - lots of little bits and pieces in the drawers and bathroom that you don't get at other places, pool was fantastic with the most incredible views in every direction and lit up at night so we enjoyed a late night swim.

All in all highly recommended for romance or peace and quiet. We'll definitely return!

“Poached eggs on a mountain top..what more do you need?”

As soon as we pulled up at sunset to Hillcrest we knew that we were in for a treat! The view is incredible and it is incredibly relaxing listening to the sounds of the birds and other various weird creatures! The pool especially is fantastic and we enjoyed a sunset swim, utter perfection. The food is also first rate, poached eggs with those yolks are to die for! The room was comfortable and beautiful.

If we were to split hairs we would say that the only criticism was the slight 'rules based' aspect of the stay. You are provided with a booklet with various handy hints (how much shower gel to use!?) including no eating in the room. We were left with the feeling of two naughty children invading somebody else's beautiful home. While it is no criticsm of Clive and Tracey's hospitality or effort, the place does slightly lack that genuine warmth that we felt from other B & B's that we stayed in.

That said, this didn't detract from the superb stay and the surrounding area is incredible and worth 3-4 days. We would certainly return and recommend the retreat to friends.

“Heaven on earth”

We stayed here for 5 nights part of a month-long trip to Australia, but in all honesty we could have stayed here a lot longer! Clive & Tracy were perfect hosts, the views from the b&b were beautiful and the area has heaps to do and see - it's all wonderfully tranquil and relaxing, just what we needed. We really felt so at home here.
The room was spotless and snug, so homely! We also enjoyed the amazing breakfasts although we were actually recovering from a nasty stomach bug, so didn't eat as much as we would have liked to. What made the breakfast even more special is that the eggs had been laid by their own "chooks" - they had the most vivid-coloured yolks we'd ever seen!
Hiring a car is a must here, the b&b is 10 mins drive from the nearest town, which is in turn around 25 mins from the airport. To really make the most of the area, it's essential, but you will see the most amazing things, Mt Warning especially, and the little villages surrounding this place are a delight.
Overall we absolutely cannot fault Hillcrest in any way.... A really special holiday, thank you so much Clive & Tracy!

“relaxation heaven wth fantastic views and great facilities”

we'd stayed in the main house spa suite on our last visit and throughly enjoyed it but for a longer stay we quite fancied trying the cottage - couldn't look inside on our last visit as it was already booked by some other lucky couple but we knew it would be great as everything about this place is.

cottage was as lovely as we expected. totally private and seclude in it's own fenced rainforest garden - totally awsome views from the lounge and private verandah ..we spent most of our week stretched out on the sun lounges with champagne just admiring the views - that's when we weren't gazing at mt warning from the biggest spa bath i've ever seen. we treated ourselves to a massage with lisa this time - can't put into words how great she is.

they keep the price down by offering a choice of light breakfast or full breakfast basket - we just had the light version which was fine - cerreals, tea, coffee, milk and some of their own free range eggs.

as with our last visit hosts were fantastic ... friendly, full of local knowledge but knew exactly when to leave us alone. pool was as great as last time too. had another fantastic stay and can't wait to get time to go back.
