Stayed in a suite at Peppers Bale for 3 days before Christmas. Everything feels new and exclusive.
We arrived late so collected our key from the friendly reception at Peppers Salt Resort & Spa next door, just a half minute drive away.
We should have realised, but the suite was larger than we expected. We had an extra bedroom with ensuite. The main bedroom was luxurious with a huge spa bath on the other side of a clear screen and a huge showerhead in the generously sized shower. It was a shame we didn't make use of the fully equipped kitchen. We had a bit of ocean view but it is mostly obscured by trees. All around the apartments is a sprawling lawn with coastal pathways leading to the beach. The lawn is so vast and perfect it feels a bit like a golf course.
The accommodation has everything a person needs to unwind and relax. For my husband who needs it most, this included a vast array of free movies and internet, airconditioning and housekeeping of course, access to a mostly peaceful lap pool & spa, access to a coffee machine in the reception building at one end of the pool, easy walk to a beautiful endless beach (only drawback is the bluebottles), shops and restaurants close by so no need to leave the village. There are less families at Peppers Bale, so quieter than Peppers Salt Resort & Spa.
Around the pool area I was delighted to see a white pet rabbit roaming around, keeping the grass down. Was cute but timid.
Pillows - the standard pillows are not terribly comfortable, so I recommend selecting a latex one from the pillow menu on your first day.
Dinner at Season next door was lovely. I particularly enjoyed the light entrée of quinoa with herb salad, but all meals were lovely.
Rather than staying in the village the entire time, I enjoyed driving out to Kingscliff (only about 5 mins drive).
If you are looking to indulge in modern, spacious, private luxury accommodation on the coast then I recommend it.
