Once checked into the room we discovered ants all in the kitchen. We tried to get rid of them but no more than 2 minutes later, there would be more of them. Phoned reception, they took 20 mins for someone to come and "look" at it, we requested a new room which took an hour to deliver and bumped us down to the bottem level which didn't have the same features as our previous room. Other than that it was good, pool and spa was nice. Breakfast was good and walking distance to the beach is also handy.

We recently spent 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment. The room was clean and airy with good quality toiletries.
The weather was very average but position of resort has access to bar and 4 restaurants in salt village.
Breakast was included but was fairly average.
Overall would definitely stay again.

Our family booked a three bedroom self-contained apartment for three nights in Jan 2012, we found the whole experience excellent, from check-in to check-out. The staff at Mantra on Salt Beach polite and helpful. The buffet breakfast each morning by the pool was fresh and tasty. The eateries down stairs offered many different menu options, and the bar served cold beer and good sized meals. The beach was only a stone throw away and patrolled. The location is great and we found our stay to be very relaxing. Great place for families or couples.

We had stayed at a Mantra resort before up in Darwin and had a totally awesome experience, I would reccommend this hotel to anyone. But sad to say I would not recommend the Mantra at Kingscliff.

Being new parents my husband and I were given a night off from our baby to get away and we looked on trip advisor and chose this resort. We had seen another posting that mentioned to request NOT TO BE PUT IN A ROOM ABOVE THE TAVERN as it is very noisy, especially on a Saturdat night with a live band! So after reading this review we requested this and our request was totally ignored. There is no point in writing any special requests as they are not read, on leaving we mentioned this and were told we should have requested a room change when we realised this was where we were! We did not realise just how bad the noise factor was until later that night when we had to turn on the tennis to try and block out the noise from below and of course at this time of night the last thing you want to do is request a room change! So much for our quiet night away we would have gotten more sleep at home!

Perhaps instead of telling us it was up to us to request a room change someone at Mantra should be doing their job properly, after all isn't is supposed to be all about customer service!

My Mantra is " I will not stay at this resort again"
