I won't stay here again I use to come here alot but over 5 years it is like they forgot to care cracked basins .dirty walls,mouldy, it's really lacking and huge crack in the shower the look of horror on my Kids faces when they saw the room

There is nothing particularly wrong with this motel but you do get the feeling that the investment programme has been cancelled. On a 30 day tour of Oz this was the only place bar one that still had an analogue vintage CRT TV set, and the towels were somewhat crisp (rather than fluffy) and thin. The cooked breakfast was simply awful (rock hard & rubbery poached eggs - with toast to match).

Having said that, if you want a spacious room close to the airport (45 minuted drive away), with free wi-fi - then this motel works and hence an average rating.

For eating, my advice is to forgert the tired 'in grounds' Chinese restaurant and walk to the nearby Essen restaurant (a two minute walk when you turn left out of the motel). The price of wine at Essen is a bargain compared to the rip off prices charged by the Chinese restaurant

Unfriendly unhelpful staff, room shabby and unclean. My teenage daughter and I were accosted by drunken louts in the pool drinking beer out of glass bottles (dangerous in pool area), and had to leave and go back to our room. Complaints fell on deaf ears.

the beds were the worst I've ever experienced in my life. Rock hard, like trying to sleep on a slab of concrete. I tossed and turned all night trying to get comfortable, without success. My husband agreed, as did my son and daughter. We had an apartment for just one night (doing renovations to our house and the floor tiling had been done that day and we couldn't walk on the floors, so a motel was needed). The apartment itself was large and it was very clean, but those beds .....

Maclin Lodge, if you read this, take heed please, because you're doing your business a disservice with those dreadful matresses. Because of the beds, I can't recommend this motel.
