“Very relaxing, great staff, great location”

When my husband and I arrived we were given fresh poppy-seed cake and fresh milk. We were given a map of Byron and asked about some places to go for dinner. The staff were very helpful.

Our room was on level 2 and each room has a set of chairs and a table outside on the balcony (we didn't mind sharing the balcony with othr guests). Our room's decor was very up to date and our room was huge!

The hotel was very quiet. The walk into Byron was only about 2 minutes and the beach was just across the path, which we could see from our room. We forgot beach towels and reception let us borrow some (they also had games, unbrellas, etc to borrow). They had a good range of DVD's, but we didn't get a chance to watch any.

We were running low on milk, so went down to reception to request some more and we were also given 2 slices or fresh cake!

I would definitely recommend staying at Friday's - the staff are friendly, the hotel is quiet, and its close to Byron main area.

“Nice Possie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Greta to be able to say on the beach ...just about in byron town. Spa cious suite with nice bathroom and pleasant reception.
Car park off the street was appreciated.

Room Tip: Might be better to book in advance to get an upstaire suite.

“Motel feel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Great location, but place has 1950s motel feel. Guests on balcony right outside room front door reduce privacy.

“Hmmmm....”

I think I can only echo the thoughts of retiredfun below.
We were expecting a bit more of FOTB than we got.
Room was large and spacious, and clean, but there was as has been said before, no private balcony, no private "guest only" area for R&R, and you're not really "on the beach" more "a little walk through a public area from the beach". To be fair, it's a very nice beach, though.
The major issue, however is the price. If jane W didn't think $220 was worth it, try the $300 we paid. That's £200 in real money and that was way too much for what we got. Especially as breakfast is not included!
Byron Bay itself is also a little disappointing for a 40-something. Think Newquay, if you're familiar with the UK.
Try One Mile Beach instead.

I'm sorry to hear you were dissapointed with your visit to Byron Bay. We endeavour to make all our guests feel welcome and enjoy the delights of Byron as much as we do. Byron Bay caters to many tastes with a multitude of things to experience
We would have one of the best locations in Byron, being situated in a park and right on the beach with no roadway between us and the beach.
We have a large wrap around shared verandah that is enjoyed by our many guests with tables and chairs outside the rooms. This is a perfect spot to enjoy our homemade cake or a sundowner.
We advertise a private deck on the Upper Ocean Fronts only and these rooms are offered to guests upon booking if available.

The hotel is excellent, it is perfectly located just off the beach, and less than a minute's walk away from Byron Bay centre for all the shops cafe's and restaurants.
The owner and reception staff were so helpful with restaurant suggestions, booking us surf lessons, activity/day out suggestions. The yalso offer free beach towel loans, DVD hire, games, everything to make your stay even better. It's good for couples or families.
The room was ace - nice and spacious, very comfy bed, clean and tidy, with a good bathroom. We can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: Reception isn't open late at night so get there early evening.
