Spent a week in Dolphins during October, and had a great time. The rooms were very clean, and had everything needed including hairdryer, and cooking equipment. The new Managers Ross and Helen were exceptionally kind and helpful, telling us the best places to see the Whales, eat, etc. The motel was within walking distance from town(we didn't have a car), but was far enough out that you didn't get bothered by noise at night. I would recommend Dolphins to anyone. Brilliant Cafe next door called Mac's that serves excellent breakfast, and also take away foods.

Reasonably priced ($120 p n 2adults & a child).... very friendly & welcoming staff as we requested to view room prior to staying as have been caught out previously with paying up-front to only be shown to a dodgy room! *****Very impressed as very clean & child friendly***** (incl: microwave & toaster, crockery, cutlery, tea & coffee & fresh milk!, Lrg tv with dvd player/ BBQ area with utensils available at reception.
Deffinately will stay here on our return trip.

...we booked online as we were only needing one nights accom... Being school holidays we thought the price was reasonable - (In my opinion, I feel Byron Bay is generally overpriced!) .. we've stayed at the Youth Hostel on previous occasions so this accom was more than adequate for us!
... large motel type room where you drive up to the door - gotta love this for convenience!! ... the room was large in size with a table & chair setting, a small fridge (with freezer), kitchen sink & bench and a microwave ... bathroom was plenty big enough with the normal little extras (shampoo/ soap) - it was very clean and although it was on one of the main roads, we weren't bothered by traffic noiseat all (I guess we were a cple rooms from the road) - there was a television (and I think a DVD player) - security was good - and I presume the managers live on-site.
Check in was prompt - staff were efficient !
I'd recommend this Motel to people. .. clean / comfortable / reasonably priced /no frills!

On busy road but noise not too bad. Rooms are adequate. Further out of town than expected. If not for the snarly, unpleasant girl on reception, this would have been an okay stay.
