“"Unwelcoming"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

The customer service was horrible and I felt uncomfortable to even step foot in the so called "resort" due to feeling so unwelcome, even though I was a paying guest. Every time we walked into the foyer we were greeted with "Are you guests" in a condecending manner instead of something friendly like "hi how are you". We weren't even shown into our room or given any particular instructions about the resort i.e pool opening ours. I don't recommend staying here if you really value customer service as I do.

We apologize if the guests staying felt unwelcome, our staff do greet guests politely we give instructions as to how access there rooms.
We do ask people entering the resort if we can help them to ensure the safety of guests staying and only guests and there vistors use the facilities.

“Unfriendly”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

All I can say is that the customer service was terrible.
Upon arrival we were greeted to "Are you guests??? I'm going to go and check that" And everytime we walked in "Can I help you??" As if we were not meant to be there.
The resort is good but the service is unfriendly and unwelcoming.

“Over-priced, but big and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Lord Byron is a fairly good place to stay, staff are friendly, "resort" is clean and well-run. Although for what it offers, it seems a bit overpriced. But really, who cares when you are in Byron? Easy walk down to the main centre of town, and to the beach if your really keen. I'm a big surfer so spent very little time in the "resort" anyway, more time in the bars and ocean.

“Good location away from main noise but 2 minutes and your in the high street and on the beach.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

It is a posh hostel really. It has a nice pool and ok rooms, although it is very much a self service venue hence the lower score on the service. The staff were friendly and it was good for a short stay

“A pleasant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Ignore the bad reviews, we stayed here for two nights, a Saturday and a Sunday. The room was well equipt and extremely clean, in fact it smelled of talcum powder and also the next day the next clean also left the same nice smelling clean room. The staff were helpfull and friendly and the hotel was a two minute walk to the centre and at most a five minute walk to the beach. We found the rooms well equipt with a fridge, plasma screen and coffee etc. the pool is nice and warm and the hotel provides secure parking and a quiet environment. Overall I will come back here again if I happen to be back through Byron bay...

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the pool
