We travelled down the coast and decided to just look for a place to stay when we arrived in Byron. The Bay Motel was the most reasonably priced beach-front accomodation we found. The location is great. 3 minutes walk and you're in the city centre - 1 minute walk and you're at the beach. The parking is closed down at nights so no worries about your car. The room we got felt a little outdated to us. The furniture was old-ish and the colours were kept quietly dark with dark blue and green. It was clean and comfortable though. We had a microwave, fridge and basically everything we needed. It is simple but met our needs as we only stayed two nights.

stayed here in xmas 2000 and enjoyed our stay. 5 years later we return and we only had this motel in mind because its good value for money and the location is excellent. its opposite the main beach and 1 minute walking distant to the pub on the corner and main street. lady at reception is very friendly and welcoming. parking is a bit tight, but we tend to arrive on the earlier side so not a prob for us. we'll be back!
