We arrived at the skylark and were greeted very nicely. At first thought we had found a very good deal for the money after the basic tour. The hotel was clean and the majority of the staff very pleasant and helpful.
All was well until the morning. We were advised that breakfast would start at 7:30, so waited in the kitchen area from 7:15. 7:30 came and went - still no sign of staff to begin breakfast. I went to reception and waited there for a good 10 minutes ringing the bell, then was greeted by a Chinese lady of which spoke very little English. (this lady was in the kitchen area the whole time but gave off no impression that she were staff).
40 minutes later breakfast was made (1 sausage, 1 piece of bacon, 1 egg and about 10 beans - accompanied by 2 pieces of moldy white bread) - not impressed. Due to the time taken to make breakfast we missed our taxi (that was great fully booked by the hotel) so had to book another one without canceling the pre booked one as no staff around to help.
Having a cigarette in the garden, approached by a shabby member of staff asking if we had one spare ( on two occasions).
We left for Thorpe park in bad moods and late.
Return back to the hotel hoping to have showers - shower holder was broken and we had one less towel in our room than when we left. All towels were fresh but wet. The effort was there.
All in all, not to happy with lack of service & communication available. Also, hotel full of what I think to be staff, I think it's just family of the hotel wondering around aimlessly. Wouldn't recommend. Sorry.
