“A little oasis in an otherwise uninspiring town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2010

This hotel was ideal for an overnight stay in an area about which was for us "virgin territory". The hotel looks to be a fairly recent modernisation into a hotel of an older property. it is well set back from the road so is not bothered by traffic noise, and there is ample parking in the grounds.
Our room was clean, well-maintained and spacious with all the facilities which one expects.
Breakfast was of a "continental" bent but was adequate.
From our brief acquaintance with the staff we formed a favourable impression.

It was my best friends that stayed at Well House Manor on their wedding night! The staff couldn't have been more helpful leading up to their stay, letting me chose which room would be best suited to their needs and leaving the luggage early. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their stay, they said the bed was really comfortable, the shower was fabulous, and the breakfast and service was brilliant. It was the ideal present for them! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone staying in the area.Thankyou for making their first morning as man and wife so perfect xx

“Classy accommodation.”

My husband & I stayed here for one night whilst visiting a National Trust property in the area. Well House is a lovely ? Victorian house-lots of period features with beautifully decorated elegant rooms. The homelyness of a B&B with the standards of a small hotel.

Plenty of space for parking the hotel also has a large wrap-around garden. It is only a few minutes walk into Melksham & there is a good pub-The Kings Arms-serving excellent food at the end of the road.

Our room-No 4 was spacious and warm & I personally loved the wooden shutters on the windows. Only 2 small niggles: sleeping with the window open as it was warm there was a little traffic noise but I am a light sleeper. I would have also preferred a slightly firmer mattress for my aching back!

Breakfast was good-continental type no cooked available. However, there was fresh orange juice, plenty of good coffee & a wide selection of bread for toast, jams, some cold meat & cheese as well as croissants & bread rolls. Healthier than a fry up anyhow!

There also appeared to be good business facilities.

The staff were helpful & friendly & we would have no reservation staying here again.

A brilliant hotel and excellent training facility. I'm planning to return soon.

The staff are friendly, great breakfast and excellent coffee. The courses are second to none with a personal touch from a knowledgeable and approachable instructor.

Highly recommended

“PBBP (Profesional, Bed & Breakfast, Perfect)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2010

The hotel accommodation was part of a training course run by 'Well House Consultants'. I was genuinely impressed by the standard for a hotel with just 5 rooms, far better than I expected for accommodation included with training (and the training was great too).
The beds were comfy, the shower spacious, breakfast options enough to destroy my new year diet plans (no cooked option - cereals, breads, cheeses, meets, yoghurt, daily papers*, fresh cut oranges ready for you to use in the fresh orange juice machine).
Cable TV, alarm clock and DAB radio in the room, tea, coffee and other hot drinks facilities in the room, tasty biscuits and free coffee from the machine in the lobby. Ironing board and iron, mini fridge, towels and quality soaps.
Free Internet. Free map of Melksham listing all the shops & restaurants

*daily papers for reading - not eating ;-)
