I first stayed at Angeldale in 2008 while walking the Pennine Way solo. My wife and I returned on a more leisurely journey this year to this excellent B&B.
Angeldale is an imposing Victorian House nestled in the very middle of charming Hebden Bridge and in a pretty garden. The rooms are a good size compared to many B&Bs and are well furnished and very comfortable. Angeldale is well presented and spotlessly clean throughout. Angeldale is good value and the owners, Stephen and Christine serve a fine breakfast.
For the Pennine Way walker Hebden Bridge is a little way off the trail but it is a lovely town with very good facilities. Staying at Angeldale made it an even better experience when I was walking long distance.
Stephen and Christine are delightful and kind hosts. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they are able to provide great tips on places to visit.
If you are travelling by car be aware that it is on street parking with restricted times but Stephen and Christine can provide you a permit to park on the street near Angeldale.
If you are travelling by car ask Stephen and Christine to direct you to the village of Heptonstall and also to the Pack Horse Inn (good meals). If on foot you can rejoin the Pennine Way cutting through Heptonstall but be aware it is a steep climb out of Hebden Bridge.
We will be returning to Angeldale.
