Spent a few days in Hawley, PA at Academy Street B&B and was greeted with a gorgeous Victorian Style Circa 1863 house with a large front steps leading up to an equally large front porch. The entry door was large and heavy but was well balanced, a tribute to the craftsmanship of the era. Upon entering, you have the parlor to the right where each night the owners left out your "Evening Snacks" freshly baked and made for you. Sofas, Settees, a Piano are nicely arraigned around the room bringing your attention to a large fireplace and mantel. The bedrooms were adorned with large ornate beds and linens. The bathrooms were extremely clean and some came with Claw Foot Tubs. The dining room was spacious with floor to ceiling windows looking out to a beautifully manicured backyard with a loveseat bench swing under a stately tree. On either side of the window were built in cabinets. A fireplace is also a centerpiece to the room. The breakfast provided was homemade each morning and made to your needs where possible. It was a peaceful place where sitting on the porch during a gentle summer rain or walking along the River Park path. It truly was a place to escape the crazy and noisy life of the city and to relax in a serene and picturesque place
