“Don't expect this hotel to be in existance in 18-24 months.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Bathroom was shabbu, tub-surround was comming detached from the wall in sections, surround itself was broen with pieces missing. Carptet clean, but no padding. Most exterior doors had paint chipped off. Breakfast was pretty good, no buffet, only off the menu. The staff though were friendly and welcoming.

Beds were good. The hotel has not been remodled in 20+ years, maintenance has been lacking.

Room Tip: No real tips, west facing rooms get a lot of airport noise.

Thank you for taking time to write a review.

I apologize on behalf of the entire management team that your stay did not live up to your expectations.

All of the problems you experienced are being addressed and corrected in the $3.5 million renovation that will correct problems encountered since the last renovation in 2008.

The furniture, the bedding and technology are all getting a new look and feel. The exterior of the building is already well under way and our frequent guests are already seeing a big difference.

Now that the weather is getting colder we are starting on the interior. Including a complete redesign of the Restaurant and Lounge, updates to the lobby to improve the ambience and functionality.

We ask that our guest's be patient with us and give us the opportunity to show how much we appreciate your patronage.

Thank You

“the staff is the one positive about this dump”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Granted, my opinion is clouded by having been booked here by the airline when I was stuck at PHL overnight since my incoming flight was delayed and I missed my connection. At first, waiting for the shuttle, I was puzzled because the minibus passed me twice while I was waiting at the airport arrivals stop ("Zone 4") so I called the hotel and they informed me the shuttle stopped "on demand only". (This did not bother me, but they contacted the shuttle dispatch and on its next loop the driver immediately stopped to pick us up.)
The hotel room itself: well the tub and shower area looked refurbed. Towels looked decent. The walls and the door showed serious age or need of repair, so my hackles were up upon first entering, and the management should be told the bedding (sheets and blankets) should be all burned and replaced. Replacing all their bedding would make their rooms look 100% better, and for the money to replace the sheets and blankets, this would already considerably offer a good ROI for first impressions. There are stains or the sheets look yellowed from age, and if I were not exhausted, I would not want to touch it, much less sleep on it. The room has a small table and chairs in addition to the regular desk. Strangely after a week of european shoebox sized hotel rooms, this room felt ginormous and spacious and it was nice to eat something at a table in a hotel room. There are two sinks: one outside the bath/toilet area, and one inside bathroom door with the bath and toilet. This is convenient for multiple family members sharing a room.

The best thing: at the front desk was a very cheerful young man, that was welcoming (apologized for circumstances I came to stay in PHL), made my check in as simple as possible (just show me any ID to verify you are who the airline says you are), and then solicitiously asked if there was anything he could get to help us. We had arrived without our luggage, so he got us toothbrushes and toothpaste. I came away thinking, "he must have been to a hospitality program at a university" because I felt a lot better about our situation after that encounter.
There is an airline flight status board inside the lobby (departures) which is helpful, and dispensers of ice water (one flavored with lime, one with oranges).
(But I agree with another reviewer: am probably glad I was only there for one night!)

Room Tip: Bring your own sheets.

“I am glad it was only for one night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

I was teaching at a conference held at this hotel and stayed for the night. Supposedly this is a 3 star hotel but I would disagree (especially compared to the really nice 3 star hotel I stayed at the next night in MD). Being near the airport I suspect the hotel gets heavy use and it is badly in need of a major refurbishment. The bathtub had mildew around the cracked caulking, the bar over the soap holder was gone, just 2 empty holes in the plastic shower surround, the drain was clogged and the bedspreads where stained (cleaned but old stains that did not fully come out). At the conference we had very loud and disruptive people in another room for a weigh-in in the evening and a very loud and enthusiatic power lifting event all day Saturday. On the positive side, the food from room service was decent, the staff was pleasant and if you need a hotel before flying from Philadelphia airport it is convenient.

Room Tip: rooms on the side away from the the highway are quieter

Thank you for writing a review.

I am sorry that your stay was unsatisfactory. We are currently in the middle of a $3.5 Million renovation to completely revamp our rooms to create a more welcoming and comfortable stay.

We are very sorry about the noisey group in the room next to yours. We tried to plan the other events away from your event to keep any disruptions to a minimum.

I hope that you will give us another chance to WOW you after our renovations are complete next October.

“cheap price... so I guess you get what you pay for!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

The furnishings are basic, no problem. It's in a decent location. Problem is with sound. On one side of my room I hear cars driving by on the highway and people talking in the parking lot. On the other side I hear music from some local nightclub/lounge. Next time, I'd pay the extra bucks and stay in a Hampton Inn

Thank you for writing a review about your stay.

I'm sorry that you had a problem with noise from the highway during your stay. We are currently working on a solution that may help with the noise in our $3.5 million renovation we started a few months.

Our renovation will correct a few problems with the room softgoods and technology. As well as giving the exterior and interior a new look and feel.

I hope that you will give us another chance to show you the best possible stay when the renovations are completed in November 2012.

Have a great day.

Booked via stay 123 for a park and fly trip out of the country. Lobby is very nice, Got in late and just wanted a bed until 4 am. Front desk was very nice.

Room: Elevator up....elevator down......think i counted 126 up and downs before nodding off. All night we heard the noise from elevator shaft.....too tired to request a room change. Recently painted.... yes.....sorry to say...not a very good job at that. Paint peeling from outlet cover already that was painted over. They cost about .15 cents wholesale no? Could the stay 123 bookings get different rooms? Definitely not worth list price for these rooms.

Rudy the bus driver who picked us up at airport was rude and actually asked a guest who got on bus after wife and I to get off because he needed to pick up a couple flight crews. gosh....if a metro bus was full you'd wait until the next one arrived. What makes one guest better than another? I certainly hope this guest addressed this with management. so much for customer service!

If you are looking for no thrills room and you get a great price...go for it!

Room Tip: ask for away from elevator shaft maybe better luck!

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry that your stay with us was unsatisfactory. Your comment about the driver who picked you up from the airport has been sent to that department head so the issue can be brought to his attention.

The noise from the elevator is an unfortunately something that is difficult for us to address. But we are addressing the decor and technology in our $3.5 million renovation that was started this summer. The technology and softgood are being replaced or upgraded to make our rooms welcoming and cozy.

I hope that you will give us another chance to show you the highest level of service and satisfaction that our guests deserve. I would like to have you back after our renovations are completed in Novmeber 2012.

If there is anything i can do for you please contact me.

And have a great day.
