This was the worst room we have ever seen!!!, the owners are loud & rude!, they slam doors, and talk loud early in the mornings, they call the rooms at 9 am to see if you are checking out, they argue with customers. They charge you way too much for roaches in fridge, bed, & coming through walls. Some type of fungus on walls in bathroom, carpet smelled like something or someone died. They use old dressers, desk, & anything they find at dumpsters, or curb alerts!, the dirty sheets dont fit the beds, towels are filthy, walls are dirty & paint chipped, they use towels as window curtain , & other curtains are old, t.V's are old!, air condition is very loud, & doesnt keep the room cool, cracks under door & where air condition is set up, where as bugs can come in, like "grasshoppers", "flies", & other weird bugs,. The maid is rude as well, they never clean the rooms properly, we found shoes, & other items under the bed, rooms are cursed!, we had so many demonic attacks while there, stay away!....

Well we had no other choice. We had to stay here for the night. The place was dirty, smelly, and noisy. The worst part was there were roaches crawling around at night. This place really sucks.

This hotel was severely overpriced for what was offered. The beds were soiled, the carpet was nasty, the TV sat on an old schooldesk from the 1960's. The service was horrible. If you need a snack, they have them in the lobby for $1+. I could hear everything from outside, trains, planes and automobiles; you could hear it all from the room. This was definitely not a place that ANYONE should stay that has a choice. We did not have a choice, because our vehicle broke down on the I-44, and this is where the towtruck driver dropped us off. It was the worst night of my life.

We stayed here because it was recommended in a Route 66 guide book. The recommendation rated it an exceptional value and exceptionally clean. Apparently, since the review was written, the place changed owners or something. We had stayed in a Route 66 "vintage" motel the night before in Lebanon, Missouri, and it was just wonderful. So, we know there are old rt.66 motels out there that have been lovingly restored. But Relax Inn is definitely NOT one of them. It was pretty dirty, shabby and everything in the room was broken. The highway is about 6 feet from our window - so traffic noise was really bad - not to mention the train that passed every hour and sounded like it was coming thru the room - and blasted the whistle for added effect! The bed was so old and soft, I was tempted to sleep in the car - I swear we would have left, but my poor husband was so exhausted from driving, I didn't have the heart to make him get back in the car and look for another motel. I will be sending the rt.6 guide book author an email and tell him he needs to update it - this place is gross!!! (Thankfully, we had brought our own bed pillows, but we left so quickly at day break, we left them behind!)
