Checked into hotel about 3:00 in the morning after traveling. Key machine was malfunctioning and had to wait for about 5 minutes to get a room key. We were given a first floor room and the keys didnt work. Went back to desk and got a key that finally worked. The room was clean, however, the bathroom door was dragging on the floor and was hard to shut. We were kept awake by noise from the people upstairs. We gave up and got up and out by 8:00 that morning. I told the front desk person the door was dragging and the noise was terrible. She simply said "Sorry to hear that".

Although the hotel was clean and the staff friendly the rooms needed an update. Most of the newer hotel have the comfort top mattresses, this was the old fashion type mattress, very hard. The pillows were hard as rocks The TV was terrible,video and sound were out of sync. Don't even go down for the so called breakfast, it was terrible and so was the coffee; go down the block to I-Hop The elevator groaned and moaned all the way to the top. It seemed there was a night a party on our floor and doors slammed all night. Would I stay there again? NO! I would go a few blocks away to the new Fairfield Inn just a few block away.

We checked in the hotel...after a long day on the road. I trust Holiday Inn express hotels to be comfortable..clean and well managed...or would stay at the local Hampton Inn. Things seemed okay...but the manager gave us incorrect information on wireless in the room (told us there was none)...the pool was cloudy...and when I got up at 4AM to take medication ...went into the bathroom to find three cockroaches! Unacceptable. I did tell the hotel manager and housekeeper about the problem the next morning...the housekeeper corrected me and said the bugs were water roaches... We were on the third floor..did not expect that. The manager to her credit asked me what I wanted to do about it...??? not sure what that meant.
The hotel needs a higher standard of cleaning and fumigation control.
The pool needs work...

Had reservations that had been secured with my personal credit card. When we travel, we all ante a certain amount and get a debit card from our bank. We use this card for gas and lodging. This hotel has a policy that they will not take a card like that because it has no name on it and if the room gets trashed, they have no recourse. I understand that policy, but one needs to know about that before hand. The clerk was very kind in the end she did accept our debit card.
The room was OK, but it was 101 degrees outside and the AC did not do a super job of cooling the room, though it turned out to be tolerable. The bathroom had no AC vent, apparently, and was quite stuffy.

We left early in the AM so did not take advantage of the breakfast. Also did not use the pool but they told us they were having trouble with the AC in the pool room.

Clean and beds and pillows were comfortable.
