We love this park! We live in Dallas and it is an easy drive and a great weekend getaway. The town around it is small and there are not the HUGE crowds that you get in lakes around Dallas. The Army Corps of Engineers owns all the land on the lake, so there is only beautiful scenery to behold. You can rent boats, house boats and wave runners there. The town around it is quaint and the people are soooooo nice. The kids love the trails and all the quartz rock they find. We have to go through the little forestry museum every time we go. There is a golf course in nearby Idabel, and we have run into many guys on a golf outing weekend.

We always stay in cabins rented by Pine Meadow Cabins. --------. They have EVERYTHING taken care of from linens to coffee and sweet-n-low. Most of their cabins have hot tubs inside. Cabins 1-6 are PERFECT for couples to escape. They also have larger cabins for families. We have tried cabins rented by other rental companies, but they are never as clean or well-stocked, so now we stick with Pine Meadow Cabins. They are family owned and we always have to stop and see Ruby and Clifton and their daughter and son-in-law Dian and Doug when we go.
