My boyfriend and I stayed in cabin 6 for our first visit to this lovely B&B located in the gently rolling foothills of the Appalachian mountains. The cabin was set in a circle with about six other cabins, far enough away from the Inn for peace and quiet, but not too far to walk for gourmet breakfast and dinner. King sized bed very comfortable, soft sheets and towels, nice jacuzzi, two person shower with jets all over, small refrigerator, and toilet in its own closet. Not much counter space around sink for cosmetics or lotions, but that was only a minor problem. One thing I loved was how good the room smelled each time we walked in! Like flowers.
The breakfasts were wonderful, including gourmet French toast with pecans, or a ham & egg scramble with fresh biscuits and coffee cake. The Inn uses local free range chickens and local produce as much as possible....plus they have their own gardens. Dinners were equally delicious, very gourmet, with excellent fresh fish choices that changed every night, imaginatively presented. Service is simply superior. Daryl and Sherry are so hospitable, and Daryl is very humorous. One night when we arrived at the Inn for dinner he had one whole room of people singing! He loves to sing.
The Inn is set on about 147 acres with several miles of hiking trails through woods and pasture. Very nice easy hikes. Close by is the Davis Memorial State Nature Preserve, where we hiked without encountering anyone else, past a beautiful clear stream surrounded by two types of dolomite cliffs. Saw a kingfisher and a beaver. The trail there joins with the Buckeye trail, and going to the end of the preserve takes only a little over an hour. The Edge of Appalachia Preserve and Serpent Mound are not far away.
The Murphin Ridge Inn is a beautiful, peaceful get-a-away into nature. We're going back in wildflower season!
Room Tip: All cabins are quiet, but numbers 7 through 9 are isolated from the others and have beautiful views...

We are so pleased that your stay with us was a good one. You seem to understand the "feel" of Murphin. Do come back when the wildflowers are at their best. AND THANK YOU!
