We stayed at this hotel Feb. 13, 2010 as part of a "cabin fever" trip. We chose this hotel because we had stayed there a couple of years ago, with no problems. This visit was very different. We checked in about 1/2 hr. early, and the lady at the desk was very professional and pleasant. Our room was not ready, but the maid assigned to it just happened to be nearby. The desk clerk asked her if she could get it ready soon, and the maid said she would., and she did. She was very nice and she did a good job. I believe her name was "Susan". After that, things went downhill. There were 8 or more UNSUPERVISED children running around in the lobby, pool, exercise and breakfast room areas. Their ages appeared to range between approx. 7-15. We saw one adult one time with them , for a few minutes. The reason I say 8 or more is that occasionally we would see a different one with the group, so I don't know if they were all staying together, or if they were from separate groups. Every exercise machine was taken by them, and they were playing loud music. The music could not really be heard outside the room, except when they were running in and out of the door, but even with that door closed, we could FEEL THE VIBRATIONS of jumping and running . And I mean we could feel it upstairs on the second floor in our room. When we went to use the computer in the lobby, 2 of the children were using it, so we waited on the other side of the lobby. When my husband sat down at the computer, the seat (upholstered) was wet. The child was wearing a bathing suit, apparently a wet one. When we went to use the hot tub, there were no towels, and the hot tub had brown scum on the foam. There were 3 of the same children swimming and running and yelling unsupervised in the pool area (under the sign that said "no unsupervised children"). I was wondering if the hotel considered that to be a liability. My husband asked the front desk clerk (evening shift) for towels. After about 15 minutes, she did bring them. He told her about the children (which she could see), but she did nothing. Also the toilets clogged twice. Then in the morning,of course, the children were in the breakfast area unsupervised, swarming the food area. At 9:15 A.M., much of the food selection was gone. One of the children was trying to make waffles on that hot waffle iron. Believe it or not, a lady came in and made coffee as we were finishing ,who said nothing to them. When we left the hotel, a few minutes later, there was no one at the desk. It's probably a good thing. I love children, but to let them run among strangers, pools, equipment etc. unsupervised is dangerous, and for the hotel to do nothing about it is just as bad. We will not be returning.
