“Back in Time”

We were in Ohio for a wedding and had never been to Lake Erie. Decided to go & stay on the island. The B&B owners & managers were very friendly. We stayed in room #1 just inside the front door. The room was large though sparsely furnished. Comfortable bed but bring your own pillows. The guests staying next door were pretty loud coming & going, so they woke us up. We talked to people who have been staying at Ashley's for years. We decided that once was enough for us.

“Can't wait to return to that porch!”

Put In Bay has so much going on, so many different things to see and do, and I honestly could have spent our entire visit on the porch with a drink and watch the world go by. The location can't be beat- you are just a short walk from downtown. This was our first experience with a B&B and I am bummed that we have waited so long. It was like being at home. The accommodations were great (we were 2 couples so we reserved the suite- rooms 11 and 12) and breakfast was more than adequate. There was cereal and bananas available at any time (which was great at 2am!). We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Bob, but Judy was amazing. We will definitely be back!

“Complete Perfection”

If this review sounds gushing, it is because we (three middle aged couples) could not have found a better place than Ashley's. We spent two nights here and it was absolutely perfect. None of us had been to Put-in-Bay in years and, as usual, relied on Tripadvisor to find lodging. The house is charming, well decorated, extremely clean and comfortable. We had rooms 8, 9 and 10, which all had private baths. The rate during the week is very reasonable for such a lovely place. The hosts, Judy, Bob and Kelly were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, but not "in your face". Although we have stayed in small inns, we have not actually stayed in a bed and breakfast before and were not sure what to expect. Although there are 13 guest rooms and we seemed to meet (friendly) people constantly coming and going, we still had our privacy and it was never rowdy or noisy. The front porch is the icing on the cake. What a great place to start your day with coffee, and end it with wine. The location is perfect. Ashleys is practically steps away from the harbor and downtown, yet the location is quiet and peaceful. The winery is a short walk the other direction. We cannot wait to go back.

“Comfortable and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

My husband, son and I stayed in rooms 11 and 12 and had a wonderful time. This B/B is truly run by folks who care. Kelly could not be more attentive. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. This huge historic house is truly a throwback to a simpler time. (However, all modern amenities are available) The bath was clean, the beds comfy and our hosts made us feel right at home. Judy's grandson Aidan even invited our seven year old to join him at his baseball game. It is very apparent that Bob, Judy and /Kelly know the islanders well. They referred us to Denny and Linda at Harriett's for our golf cart, the hatchery for some fishing fun, and several restaurants. They have also negotiated use of several island pools including the new Sand Bar pool/arcade. We have been to PIB several times, but truly felt at home during this visit. The rooms are exactly as shown on the webisite...victorian decor fits well with this beautiful old home. Even though many guest had kids with them, we found it to be quiet. Thank you Judy, Kelly and Bob
