We stayed Fri and Sat last weekend with the kids in the hotel part of Erie Islands. We got a great deal on groupon - both nights, wine &cheese reception, breakfast, and dinner with a bottle of wine for $99. The grounds and hotel were very nice. Thier was alot at the rec center for the kids to do ( swimming, hot tubing, arcade, pool table, and air hockey). If it would have been summer time thier was also paddle boats, basketball, playground, fishing and planned activities. I got a facial at the spa that was very relaxing, and the manager of the spa is very friendly. The only downfall to the weekend is that the pool is not located in the same building as the hotel rooms, so it was very cold going back and forth (would be no problem in the summer). However i do see how it would be nice in the summer not to have all the traffic in the hotel since thier is also a campground and cabins. We also signed up for a timeshare tour while thier, and the prices were not bad, still considering membership.

we spent last weekend there...we enjoyed it very much! the entire staff was amazing! the rooms where the cleanest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in (and we travel a lot) The wine and cheese reception was fun. the Thursday diner was exceptional.We had expect a "cheap meal" based on the price of the package but we where pleasantly surprised. We had a nice time talking to the Manager Ed and his wife Cheryl, it is no wounder this hotel is full of people with staff like this. Thank you all Jimmy was the best waiter we have delt with in some time. Had a lot of fun and we will be back.Thanks Ed.

My husband found this place on Groupon for a very good price. Which included dinner and wine. At first I was kind of skeptical due to the previous bad reviews. Upon arrival we were greeted by hostess Kathy who was very friendly as were the rest of the staff. Our room was very nice with hardwood floors and a flat screen TV. The lobby had a nice fire place. Upstairs there was another fireplace, pool table, and a nice bar. When I spoke to the manager ED about the bad reviews he said they were in the process of renovating and gave us a tour of the rest of the rooms which were also awesome! I will say the rooms that have not been renovated yet do have a musty smell to them and are a bit dated but will be finished soon at the rated they were going. My husband and I loved this place so much we plan to return this summer :-)

Overall my girlfriend and I had a really great time at the resort. It was a fantastically priced "wine and dine" getaway which included 2 nights at the hotel, a 3 course dinner, and a wine and cheese reception. It also included full access to the facility (though some things like tanning, movie rental, etc. you had to pay for). The appetizers at the wine and cheese reception were comical (Ritz crackers, deli ham, and colby cheese) and the dinner (though somewhat tasty was meager as well), but it didn't really bother us given we were having such a good time and for the price what did you expect? The hotel manager especially was very friendly and the whole staff was as well. They took this from an average stay to above average.

There were issues with the room to be sure though. It was very loud at night and you could here anyone moving/talking upstairs or out in the hall. I believe the walls were made of paper. We were also next to the laundry room so heard dryers and staff being loud the whole night. Though everyone was having a great time it doesn't appear this hotel has a "quiet time". On the very last night the archaic heater in our room failed leading to a very cold night.

Even with these issues I believe that we would come here again. Not in the winter that's for sure, but, rather, in the summer when more of the facilities are open.
