People have consistently rated this place 5 stars, but I think that's a bit too high. Definitely a nice place to stay, by and large. But it has some gaps as well. We had a room for a family of four, and it was rather too small for all of us. We stayed there in January, and there was no heat in the bathroom (or the large closet, so when you open the closet door your get an arctic blast). My biggest complaint was that the bathroom had a countertop that wrapped around the toilet in such a way that when you did your business, you'd be bumping into the counter top. My family member and I are relatively small sized people--any one of large girth would have had difficulty using the toilet for this reason. Weird. Other concerns were that the facilities weren't clearly marked. For example, the hotel's main parking area off the main road didn't have a sign indicating it was the parking area, so we parked on the side street, only to be told later to move the car to the (unmarked) parking area. We got our bags out and almost went into the office, but realized what we'd assumed was the front door wasn't marked as such, so we dragged our bags through the snow into the court yard in search of the office. We realized belatedly we had it right the first time, and dragged our bags back again the the (unmarked) office. Once we got our room assigned, it was back outside across the court yard, so we were out there dragging our bags through the snow yet again. I guess this sounds like a silly complaint, but when your tired from traveling and it's friggin' cold outside (we live in the tropics), its nice if there's a bit of clarity on where to go to find what you need the first time. As for places to go for dinner, there wasn't any decent sit-down diner or restaurant in the area. The owner recommended one, and gave us directions, which we followed, but found no evidence of the existence of the restaurant she'd recommended. We gave up and ate at the Chipotle's in the area--normally one of my favorite restaurants when I'm DC--but this particular Chipotle's was a bit of a dive (no decent place to sit and eat--better to get take away and eat in your hotel room). The room was clean and beds were nice, and the morning breakfast was very nice. It's a decent enough place to stay, but not a 5 star experience.
Room Tip: We stayed in Room 23 and the bathroom countertop competed with the toilet, making it difficult to us...
