Swansea is a small seaside town with not a lot of scope for accommodation.
I have rated this Motor Inn as "terrible" for the following reasons:
The receptionist on duty gave us a key to view a potential room. On entry the bed looked slept in, and there were dirty dishes on a side table. When advised of the condition of the room the receptionist said housekeeping must have missed that one.
A key was provided to view the room next door. This room was found to be in worse condition than the first, ie bed dishevelled, dirty towels strewn around the room.
We were then offered an upgrade room, ie with a sea view. We looked at third the room - it had been serviced, and had a nice view of the water. We took the room.
Tired from travelling we decided to take a nap before dinner. We were somewhat surprised to be woken from our sleep to the sound of someone in our room (!) They quickly vacated when they realised we were lying in bed.
My husband went to reception to find out what was going on. The same receptionist that had booked us in had given other potential guests the key to our room. We were upset by what had occurred. The receptionist did not appear to think she had done anything wrong.
There is no way of preventing others from entering the rooms, eg no chain, or bolt. We pushed a chair under the door handle to feel a little more secure.
One can only assume they do not have systems in place to monitor when rooms are occupied or cleaned. Or, if they do have a system they have not informed, or trained staff appropriately.
