We stayed in a two bedroom unit which was spacious and clean. Great location. Staff friendly and the unit had all the things we needed. Take the time to do the walk to Hogarth Falls nearby, well worth the effort. Overall, not five star, but it's not trying to be. Would stay here again.

We spent 2 nights at The Crays in the "King" unit and cannot speak highly enough of our accommodation. Our unit was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. There was a deck out the back which overlooked the very pretty garden (we thoroughly enjoyed sitting there each evening sharing a bottle of wine and eating our dinner). The location is fantastic - it's just a short walk into town. Undercover parking, free use of the washing machine, and lovely homely touches all around (like a vase of fresh flowers in the kitchen to greet you on arrival). We would not hesitate to recommend The Crays to anyone travelling to Strahan, and look forward the returning there on our next trip to beautiful Tassie. We recently stayed in Unit 3 at the Crays after spending the previous night on the river in the owner of the units Trevor's ketch Stormbreaker. We found the unit very comfortable, no problems with the bed or furnitutre as some other reviewers have noted. The unit was spacious and spotlessly clean with a balcony where we could sit and drink a glass of wine. We were able to make use of the laundry which was great as we had been camping prior to coming to Strahan and were not concerned about the sign asking us to wash up after ourselves as we own a holiday rental ourselves and are aware that people aren't always very careful with other people's property. We actually cooked for ourselves whilst at the unit and didn't feel the need to go out as we were worn out after our great trip up the Gordon river to pick up a group of rafters that had rafted the Franklin. We did however go for a walk to the nearby park and waterfall and my husband was able to get some great night photos of the harbour across the road from our unit. The only downside was the cost was a little more than I expected but the units are so scrupulously maintained that it was well worth the price. Our unit number 4 was spacious and clean. The bed was rock hard, very little supplies (just tea bags, some milk and instant coffee), no fry pan in the kitchen and saggy couches. The inclusion of breakfast, new beds and couches would have resulted in a much higher rating. My pet hate was the sign saying "We love it when our guests wash up and take the rubbish out"...it doesn't help create that holiday feeling! Not much of a view either however the location was fantastic - just a quick 5 min walk to town.
