My husband and I needed to get away from it all and we certainly achieved this goal in a very positive way at Stanley and by staying @VDL. We stayed in the King Loft Suite as we wanted kitchen facilities. Lots of little touches made our stay just lovely. Despite wild weather it was quite a bit of fun to stay in such an old building. We were always comfy. Location is perfect as you can walk almost everywhere. The only small criticism we had was no hanging space. Otherwise, an ideal couples retreat from the rat race.

My husband and I were looking for a night to excape reality and we found it. A gorgeous property in Stanley with lovely views over the ocean and Stanley Nut. The setting was ideal for a getaway. The serene envirnoment coupled with gorgeous and unique decor just are magic to the soul. From the simple choices in lovely soaps, fittings, an espresso machine, the towels were just gorgeous to use. all these simple things made the stay just that so much more special than your average accomodation. They reception staff were so friendly and welcoming giving us great advice on where to eat. Splendid service coupled with a great setting and the simple yet elegant touches made this a 11/10 stay! Well done. Will definetly recommend!!!

The room is spacious and very nice, very convenient (plasma TV, nespresso, DVD player) and well decorated. The bathroom needs to be improved : the shower is not convenient with the rocks on the floor. David is very nice and cool with a great welcome with chocolates. To conclude the Moby dick bar offers great breakfasts. This is definitely the place to be in Stanley.

My husband and I stayed in the Base Queen Suite and it was modern, roomy and comfortable. The bath was very deep and the bathroom floor heated. The room had very comfortable furniture. A small area to make a cup of tea or coffee. We ate at the Hotel Stanley and the meals were reasonably priced and lovely. We had breakfast at Moby Dicks only a short walk from the Base. The staff were incredible, the food fantastic and cheap.The view from our room was amazing. There are only two rooms at the Base and it is very private. Highly recommended.
