“Good Value for Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Certainly a surprise given the size of the township. Facilities are good and the pool is excellent. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable although the night we stayed was very warm and there was no air-conditioning - however given that this warm night was the exception in this part of Tasmania it was understandable and tolerable. The in-house pizza's were yummy and an on-site bottle shop also very handy. Generally a great little motel in a rather remote part of Tasmania. We booked in Wotif and had to be considered excellent value for monet

Room Tip: Pick one away from the lake as the birds were very noisy!

“Premium price for sloooow internet access”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Standard room clean and tidy after you beat through the flies in the room.

Internet access was sloooow even through you pay a premium price by the hour.
Unlimited access to the internet is very cheap now. Access should be included in the rates. They should get with the programme..

Room Tip: None really alll the rooms were the same. Good full breakfast

“Overall great for families, pleasant stay”

I stayed here recently for business purposes. To be honest being a country town that whilst services a big area, it is all quite remote so there are not many options. My room was a standard type of hotel room, clean, comfortable and whilst a bit outdated, was good value for money. The main building which houses dining, gaming, bar etc is lovely and I could see how this would be appealing for families. It also houses a lovely pool which I didnt use but it looked very nice. I do think free WiFi should be included as the hourly rates were very costly. I would stay again for business purposes but may prefer to stay a little further out of the town in a B&B for leisure time or travelling with my hubby.

Room Tip: There really is many to choose from, the spa rooms would be lovely and the rooms that overlooked the...

“Clean rooms with good facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We stayed at the Tall Timbers recently for one night. The facilities were pretty much what you would expect from this standard of accommodation. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are bungalow style and include tea and instant coffee making facilities. WiFi is not free (which I think it should be) but this tends to be standard in Tasmania.

We tried the bistro which had reasonable, but not great, food with generous portions. There is a pool and barbecue facilities and the grounds have lots of trees and gardens.

“More suited for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

Tall Timbers appears to be a great place to stay for a family and provides all the necessary facilities a resort style accommodation has to offer. Our single room for $140 was, I believe, a bit stiff.

There is a bistro which cooks up large dinners. Every staff member we came across were helpful and cheerful. There is a games room for the children and plenty of entertainment for the adults.

The room was small but clean, however the bed was lumpy. The bathroom was clean and refreshing - probably the best of the 6 different places my husband and I stayed during our Tassie holiday.
