First impressions of the cottage are that it's spacious, contemporary, with great views. Unfortunately, one starts noticing a few detractions. The furniture layout is remarkably poor. For example, there are no night tables in the bedrooms. The living room doesn't have enough furniture, and so spread out, that you can't really use the coffee table from the couch. And the TV is way off in the distance. It was also impossible to figure out how to use the TV satellite and cable box (some instructions would be helpful), and not made easier by the fact that all the batteries in the remotes and clocks were dead. This showed a lack of basic maintenance, including burnt out light bulbs throughout the house. Again, the cottage seems to have been decorated by 2 different people. The furniture in the living room, and decor, is of high quality, just poorly laid out. But the beds were uncomfortable, small, and the decor in the bedrooms was so poor. The towels were thin, and musty smelling.
The bedrooms barely fit the beds in them, and one bed was just squeezed in a nook by the basement stairs.
The kitchen was huge and incredibly modern. There was spacious parking and laundry onsite (though you had to plug it into the bathroom outlet, across a hallway). It had a beautiful view of the ocean, but to get to the "beach", you'd have to tromp through bushes. It's located only 10 min from the Port Arthur Historical Site, so it's fairly convenient.
