“Creature Comforts alongside Amazing Adventures”

Ian and Lucinda run wonderful accommodation with professionalism and friendliness. The rooms are quaint and comfortable.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure package, especially the 4WD experience. Ian and Lucinda shared their wealth of knowledge of King Island whilst creating a fun and friendly environment. We visited beautiful coastlines and historic sites and enjoyed a fabulous lunch with 'new' friends.

I would highly recommend King Island Holiday Village and their adventure experiences to anyone wanting to learn about this fabulous island whilst enjoying beautiful scenery, amazing wildlife and returning to a warm, comfortable bed.

“Hidden Gem”

We stayed 7 nights in one of the 1 bedroom spa suites. Our hosts Ian and Lucinda made sure that all went very smoothely. The accomodation is well set up with all of the creature comforts for a relaxing holiday. We arranged car hire through them as well, as a car is a must to get around the island. Grassy is on the quiter side of the island but meals at the local Club were excellent and the penguin colony is a 5 minute drive from the accomodation.
Photographically King Island is a hiden gem. The weather can affect outdoor activities so plan as we did, to not rush your stay and restfull days can then be fited in after a good day out driving around the island. Ian can organise a great 4WD full day trip down to the more remote southern end of the island and this is very much recommended. The best steaks in Oz come from KI and they have amazing local cheeses too.

“King Island's Hidden Gem”

I was on a photographic tour with 8 others.

I could not think of a better way of seeing King Island: Ian has an amazing 4wd, so that we could go to all the inaccessible places in all weather. Ian is very knowledgeable about places and wild life to see and also very obliging (he was more than willing to have really early starts/late evenings - perfect for keen photographers who like to roam when the light is at its best and he even provided us with correct sized gumboots when needed).

Ian and Lucinda did a fabulous job of catering - with cooked breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas with home cooked cakes, sumptuous 3 course dinners featuring all the produce King Island is famous for eg. deep fried camembert entree, King Island rump steak, pear tart dessert). Bring your own favourite wines before you get there.

A memorable trip and I will come again ... and again. Thanks Ian and Lucinda! Charlotte

Ian Johnson provided us with not only great accommodation and excellent meals but a tour of the island to many of the great photography locations. From the moment he met us at the airport with the 4WD we knew we were in for a fantastic weekend. My wife and I are contemplating a return trip some time next year.

“King Island Tour and Accommodation”

I spent 3 days with a photography tour (group of 8) and was well looked after by host Ian Johnson and colleague Lucinda. King Island is not where you go for big city bright lights - the attractions are the scenic beauty, the relaxed lifestyle and the local produce.

Ian has great local knowledge of King Island and showed us around in a 4WD bus. He was flexible with arrangements (around the weather that weekend) and the food he and Lucinda provided highlighted local produce without being overly fancy. Ian can provide various styles of accommodation - we stayed at motel type lodgings with a communal lounge with an "open fire" style gas heater and communal dining room. The building itself had obviously been around a while, but was newly renovated and clean. Fittings to the room were of high standard. It was a very good three days and I would be happy to return.
