“A must trip to do. and do again.”

Oh boy, I have been on a few holiday breaks, but this one would be hard to beat for me. It is not a 5 star resort, as Ian and Lucinda point out from the start on the web site, but it has what the 5 star joints can't offer. Hospitality, ripper genuine "see it all tours" from ship wrecks, history, wildlife galore, penguin tour, bird watching, lighthouse tours, so much more that you will have to come and see for yourself. The King Island Holiday Village itself is more than accomodatingly comfortable and has majic views of Grassy harbour and the Bold Head coastline.
I liked this so much that I have gone back for a second week. what a well kept secret this Island is.

“Lost Paradise”

Just one hour from Melbourne and you find yourself in a lost paradise. King Island is amazing. Great food, great people, wildlife everywhere, I especially enjoyed the birds. But there are parts of King Island which are hard to get to, even for the locals and that's where the 4WD tour comes into it's own. You must do it. You feel like your on another planet, the first human explorers. This place is really untouched. But the secret to a great holiday is a very very comfortable bed at the end of the day. And that's what King Island holiday village offers. A great set up.

“King Island wonderfull experience”

A few weeks ago my wife and I (we are from New Caledonia)decided on a trip to King Island as we enjoy visiting places which are not `` icon``on the world tourist maps! . So, not knowing exactly what to expect , we went for the King Island Experience package : 3 nights & 4 days all included. Those 4 days were intense, as Ian & Lucinda have a very busy program for their guests : seafood dinner (KI lobster ) , visit of the kelp factory, breath taking 4X4 sand dunes experience tour(must do), KI Muray Grey Bar B Q steak and nice red wine for lunch at the Calcified Forest(to be seen), complete description of the very important bird wildlife ,climb to the top of Currie light house, 4X4 tour of the northern part of the island, morning tea at Penny`s Lagoon, Disappointment Bay (not desappointing to us),lunch at The Boathouse in Currie harbor and much much more.
We have discovered an island which is very well looked after by its population with quite an interesting history, a busy farming economy, all of this well documented by Ian & Lucinda, who are very active professionels, who want to ensure they give you the real feel of this ``secret destination``.

“Creature Comforts alongside Amazing Adventures”

Ian and Lucinda run wonderful accommodation with professionalism and friendliness. The rooms are quaint and comfortable.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure package, especially the 4WD experience. Ian and Lucinda shared their wealth of knowledge of King Island whilst creating a fun and friendly environment. We visited beautiful coastlines and historic sites and enjoyed a fabulous lunch with 'new' friends.

I would highly recommend King Island Holiday Village and their adventure experiences to anyone wanting to learn about this fabulous island whilst enjoying beautiful scenery, amazing wildlife and returning to a warm, comfortable bed.

“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

We stayed 7 nights in one of the 1 bedroom spa suites. Our hosts Ian and Lucinda made sure that all went very smoothely. The accomodation is well set up with all of the creature comforts for a relaxing holiday. We arranged car hire through them as well, as a car is a must to get around the island. Grassy is on the quiter side of the island but meals at the local Club were excellent and the penguin colony is a 5 minute drive from the accomodation.
Photographically King Island is a hiden gem. The weather can affect outdoor activities so plan as we did, to not rush your stay and restfull days can then be fited in after a good day out driving around the island. Ian can organise a great 4WD full day trip down to the more remote southern end of the island and this is very much recommended. The best steaks in Oz come from KI and they have amazing local cheeses too.
